At first glance, these look like good value as a B3 supplement. I’m not entirely convinced though.Firstly 500mg is an awful lot of B3. From what I know, more is not better with B3, but rather, you should take 1/64th of a teaspoon up to 3 times a day. I opened up a capsule and inserted my 1/64th teaspoon measure, and I reckon that I could have filled it 10 times from the contents of a single capsule. Likewise, the %daily value marked on the tub is 3125%. I know that these daily values are sometimes artificially low, but at over 30x, there’s a certain amount of risk.I compared the contents of the capsule with some Niacinamide that I have at home. It’s not identical. This product also contains gelatin, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide. It’s a much finer powder than the niacinamide that I already owned, which has more of a crystalline texture. The taste of the powder in these capsules was moderately similar to the one that I owned previously, but not as intensely bitter.The product is manufactured for Mendota Merchants, Dover, Delaware and distributed by JunBright Ltd, London, but it is manufactured from globally sourced ingredients in the PRC (People’s Republic of China, I presume). There is no 3rd party verification of ingredients or certification of manufacturing methods.Aside from that though, the product is well presented in a brown plastic tub, and there’s 240 days supply. The capsules are moderately large, but easy to swallow.
