Very helpful book
This book is very well written with scientific references. It has complex subject matters which the author makes easy to understand. Each chapter is complete in itself. The print is large and easy to read. I admire Dr. Shamsuddin for his research work. This book along with the product (IP6 Gold) will help many people with various conditions as it supports the immune system. As a doctor, I have been recommending this book and product to my patients, friends, and family. I have also been taking it myself. Must read.

Must Read to Get Well Stay Well
If you’re not well–whether you have cancer, diabetes, etc…or you’re just tired–this book is a must read. If you want to be well, feel well, and stay well, you need to read this book. It’s hard to imagine that one substance can foster so many changes in the human body, but after reading this book, you’ll understand how that can be possible–when that substance is a constituent of all the cells. Do yourself a favor and read this book, and hopefully, you’ll also be able to help someone else that you know who desperately needs it.What has it done for me so far? I’ve been ill for quite a while, and In less than a month I got rid of fatigue and a crawling sensation in my head. I feel more energy, I’m in a better mood, and I’m looking forward to more improvement in the future. I cannot report anything else yet, because I need to document any changes in my condition with my doctor. Even if nothing else improved, though, I am grateful for what has.

Book provides good history of IP6 and evaluations of potential benefits of using the product. Many portions of the book were too technical to be understandable by a non-medically trained person. Wish it had more specifics about appropiate dosages for different types of cancer, and hereditary conditions. Overall the pluses of the book out-way the minuses.

Initially, my research on IP6 concerned me as many health websites identify IP6 as an anti-nutrient since it removes iron, copper, selenium, zinc and other metals from the body. If I had not just read the about the dangers of iron and learned that older adults frequently have toxic levels of iron, I would not have considered taking IP6 as a supplement.To learn more, I got the book IP6 + Inositol: Nature’s Medicine For The Millennium!: Discover How A Cocktail of Simple Molecules Can Prevent And Fight Cancer And Other Diseases by Dr. AbulKalam Shamsuddin.IP6 is a natural substance found in the bran of grains, cereals, seeds and nuts. Since bran is now removed from most grains, Americans are getting very little IP6 compared to their grandparents. Long term studies have shown lower rates of cancer in individuals who consume lots of foods with high levels of IP6. More recent studies of IP6 consumption have also shown significantly lower cancer rates in countries that consume IP6 rich foods. Unfortunately, IP6 tends to bond with proteins in the grain which reduces how much the body can absorb from foods and makes it difficult to get the amount of IP6 into the bloodstream that was used in studies that cured cancer in mice. The book recommends IP6 supplements be taken on an empty stomach to get the best benefit and avoid the IP6 bonding with food.IP6 provides key nutrients to the mitochondria and cell membrane. Since the mitochondria control cellular reproduction rate, cellular death, intercellular communication, and cell differentiation of new cells, it is critical for them to receive nutrients to function properly. I learned from Tripping Over the Truth that cancers are caused by damage to mitochondria, not damage to the cell nucleus DNA which was believed for decades. The nutrition from IP6 curtails the mitochondria from initiating increased blood flow to support cancer cells rapid growth, slows cell reproduction rates, and increases cell differentiation. Cancer cells are rapidly reproducing cells that are immortal (no apoptosis) caused by damaged mitochondria. Uric acid causes gout so reducing xanthine oxidase could offer relief to gout suffers;helps people with Type II Diabetes because getting inositol into the cell makes cells more responsive to insulin;appears to reduce blood sugar levels in the blood and help repair damage blood vessels from high glucose levels in diabetics;helps reduce kidney stones by binding to and removing excess calcium.improves the immune system, increases bone density, reduces anxiety attacks, reduces obsessive compulsive behavior, and increases energy by recharging the potassium in ATP cycle.IP6 looks like it may be an effective nontoxic treatment for cancer as well as a nutrient to prevent cancer. (The author did mention that he has a patent on IP6.) The book convinced me that there were enough benefits of taking IP6 to risk any side effects of lowering my metal levels. I have been taking it as a supplement for about two weeks and I have noticed that it has improved my energy level and seems to be making my skin look better (something not predicted by this book but mentioned in the Dumping Iron book).In addition to IP6, the book covers many other topics about cancer. For example, there was a review of what is wrong with the methods used to diagnosis and treat bowel cancer. The current method of looking for blood in fecal matter results in a large percentage of false positives which requires expensive, painful, and dangerous procedures to confirm if the diagnosis is accurate or not. Even worse, this entire system of diagnosis only detects 20% of colon cancers, so 80% of colon cancer cases go undetected. The author proposes using a less invasive mucus test that is 78 to 90% effective for finding all colon cancers. Similar cases are made for breast cancer and lung cancer diagnoses using more accurate and less costly diagnostic tests that are currently available.Although this book was not an easy read and written for people with a bioscience background, I recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about how to improve their health through better nutrition. A lot of the information and topics were understandable to an average reader like me. Highly recommended. Five stars.

Great Information No Hidden Sales Pitch
Have read this book several times. Underlined many things about IP6 I found useful and go back to these frequently. There is a great deal of well conducted research covered in this little book. It is not hard to follow most of the time. In the end you will see why IP6 is useful in promoting great health. I now buy IP6 Gold, which is the most expensive IP6 on the market. After reading this book I know it is worth the price. However, the book never pushes any product. It is pure information, no hidden sales pitch.

GOOD BUT NEEDED FAR MORE INFORMATION
I am pleased to say this was a very good book, however, it would have been perfect had the author who has been studying this IP6 would have given instructions on what to take with this, what not to take with this and most of all, although Prof Shamsudden says he has used it for years, i find it disgraceful the price of this product! For someone who has terminal cancer and the IPC plus inositol priced at well over £50 who has to take 8 to 16 capsules a day is going to cost the patient a small fortune. It is bad enough patients have to take so many vitamins, minerals, it is very hard to keep up with the costs, which is very sad. It seems anyone who has cancer pays a high price to attempt to get themselves better. SHAME IT ISN’T GIVEN BY THE NHS!!! So although i believe this is a very good product, such a shame it is so expensive, cancer sufferers not only go through sheer hell with their illness it costs them a fortune that many simply cannot afford in an attempt to get themselves better.

Not very believable
Initially it was interesting as a cancer treatment but it soon became clear half way in that the author claims it is a cure all for almost every known illness and the dose is impracticable in amount and cost for the average person. And no phase 1 climnical trials ever done. Similar claims could be made for eating several apples a day. An interesting read but not very belivable considering he has it patented and profits off higher sales

Book is relatively easy to read and does great job of detailing potential benefits.
Well-written, relatively easy for a non-researcher to read, and does good job of reviewing the positive research on the benefits of the substances and their use separate from meal-time versus with food. I have used for a few months to slow the impact of what has already been diagnosed as stage IV (breast cancer in lung). While I feel my lung air capacity diminishing, I have no symptoms elsewhere. (I haven’t had any recent PET scan or biopsy to determine whether the still-growing lung mass is differentiated versus metastatic.) I will say that taking this, drinking ionized water, going lower-carb, and diffusing frankincense have collectively seemed to slow the onset and severity of symptoms. I would not have expected to feel this good more than a year after diagnosis with no interventions other than those I just listed. I have no pain, very mild desire to cough, and only slight shortness-of-breath; I have begun to be low-energy, though.
