Good for Yogurt
I bought this to make yogurt. It works great and makes lovely yogurt that is not too bitter or sour. This is going to last FOREVER because you just need one capsule every 5 times you make yogurt, so that makes the high cost not as bad I guess. I’d liked to have gotten just one bottle, but didn’t find that option. I put two types of probiotics in the yogurt and together they are making my very sluggish system VERY healthy.

I take about a teaspoon of it — or open a couple of capsules, depending on the form factor — mix it into about a cup of whole milk, and leave it on the counter to see what happens.I ran that test on this product. It took roughly 48 hours, but at the end of it I had yogurt. The bacteria in these capsules are still viable. That is the single most important thing to know about any probiotic you are paying for, and it is the one thing the label cannot tell you.WHAT THE TEST DOES AND DOES NOT PROVE:It proves live, active culture in the bottle I received. It does not identify the organism. I cannot confirm from a counter test which strain is in there, or whether there is more than one — only that something in the capsule is alive and fermenting. The label states Lactobacillus gasseri at 12 billion CFU per capsule with prebiotic inulin fiber, and nothing I observed contradicts that.THE MONTH ON IT:I have been taking it daily for nearly a month with no ill effects of any kind. A minimum of 6 is recommended by my doctor but there is no mention here.However, I did try taking this supplement after a rather large meal at a restaurant and I did not feel the discomfort of having had a large meal. So, I have to say that it’s pretty effective regarding digestive effects. I noticed no side effects no bloating no gas. They’re very easy to take, the capsules are not real big and the label says just take one a day. So with 60 in a bottle and you get two bottles that’s a pretty good value.The label claims that it survived stomach acid, too, which is a huge issue currently with these supplements coming out on the market.
