This is an extremely high dose of vitamin D and you should consult a doctor before starting
Look, I live in Upstate New York so Vitamin D supplements are pretty normal given the lack of sun we tend to see during the winter months. But, the dosage for this supplement is way too high. The recommended supplement dosage for vitamin D is 4,000 IUs daily. Now given that I live in an area where people tend to have chronic vitamin D deficiency it’s not uncommon to have some higher daily doses than that, but 10,000 IUs is way too high for daily intake unless you have very specifically gone over this with the doctor. Vitamin D toxicity is a thing and it can cause long-term damage to your kidneys. That doesn’t mean that this is a bad supplement per se, but it is not something someone should just start taking out understanding that this is an extremely high dosage. Now, for me, I am simply taking this as a half so my daily intake of vitamin D is 5000 IUs, which is cut further by the fact that I also take Vitamin C supplements often at the same time which impedes the absorption of vitamin D in the digestive tract. But that’s just me. Everyone has their own particular needs and I get that, I simply can’t give this a higher rating than four stars because of the lack of any info on recommended dosage and potential hazards of overdosing on the vitamin D. As for other features of the supplement, the included Vitamin K is good for Vitamin D absorption, and Zinc is good for your immune system. The magnesium is pretty low dose and while I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have it, I don’t think it does a lot at that dose, especially since I am halving the ” serving” size. Price wise they’re not bad if doing the half-dose like I am since it’ll last twice as long.

Dont like the dose? This can easily be halved to provide double the amount of serving you get from a bottle. Easy peasy.Every day I take no less than 10,000 IU of D3, which is 250 mcg. I always take K2 alongside with it. Too much D3 is only an issue in absence of K2. This is because D3 helps increase calcium. Calcium is added to foods and drinks, so it is fairly easy to get too much. Calcium needs to be told where to go (bones and such), otherwise it will get into areas it shouldnt, which can cause problems. So it isnt high D3 that does it, it is the added circulating calcium that causes issues. This is totally rectified by K2. K2 simply tells calcium where to go.My labs run low, so because I take it daily and at slightly higher amounts, it is good to see a brand with more than the wee smidge that is usually offered (5000 IU/ 125 mcg). If low in D3, it can be hard to get it up to health promoting levels. The %DV is based on minimal amount regarding absence of disease ¬ maintain or improve health, usually.I find that this amount is beneficial. There are some stretches of time, such as winter, or feeling run down I use even more.When I go high D3, I absolutely make sure I take K2 (mk-7). This includes it. No need for me to remember to take a separate product.All that to say that so far I like adding this into my supplement routine. I have one I usually use, but this is nice option too. Normally I take D3 & K2 in fat based softgel. This Toniiq formula has liposomal components and it also has zinc and magnesium. I like that for additional immune support.The fact that it also contains some magnesium is the only thing that I dont love just because I happen to take my D3/K2 during the day, and I take a separate magnesium at night. Mangnesium in any form makes me sleepy. The amount in this is not high, but I am still careful when taking this as I dont want to get sleepy mid day. So far no issues in that regard.I love that it is liposomal. I normally dont go for capsules, and prefer instead a soft gel. But I tried this because it is a trusted brand for me, and that is is liposomal so it will have the ingredients needed to deliver the fat solulable D3 and K2.The addition of Zinc is real nice, especially in immune support. As well as boronI just need to make sure I am not double dipping with other supplements I take that may include zinc. Unlike D3 where there is no true upper limit (all good so long as there is K2), too much zinc isnt good. Amount in here is fine, I just dont want to take too much. Though it is not something I am too concerned with as the upper limit for zine is 40 mg, 4x more than what is in here.There are no surprises with this product. It is as expected.2 capsules dose. No stomach issues. No problems.Solid 4 stars.Going with 5 because I personally like this brand and use many options from this company.
