It’s follows the AREDS2 study that matches the exact nutrient blend used in the National Eye Institute: lutein, zeaxanthin, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin E, copper, astaxanthin and zeaxanthin.The lutein and zeaxanthin dosing matches the 2013 study. Zinc to copper was an 80:2 ratio but I think an 25:2 will still give you good results as my eyes have been feeling better especially with all the hours at my desk from work. The astaxanthin is an antioxidant that has been shown to reduce eye strain and protect against blue light damage.These pills have no nasty smell, are normal size, and easy to digest. Dosing is 2 capsules daily with food.

More vitamins than I really wanted
I was mainly interested in this for the lutein, zeaxanthin, and astaxanthin, so I wish they had kept the formula more focused on those ingredients. Instead, it also includes fairly substantial amounts of vitamin C, zinc, vitamin E, B12, and D3 (which I already supplement elsewhere).That isn’t necessarily a negative for everyone, but I already get most of those vitamins from other supplements and don’t really want to double up just to get the eye-specific ingredients. The 25 mg of zinc in particular is more than I’d want to add without considering what I’m already getting elsewhere.The 10 mg of lutein is a reasonable amount, and it’s made in an FDA-inspected, cGMP facility, but I’d personally prefer a version without all the extra vitamins. It would make much more sense for anyone who already has the basics covered elsewhere.
