It is an American company that actually makes their own supplements. Their products are usually affordable. Their Alpha GPC appears more expensive but Amazon lists the cost per capsule, not per dose. Now Foods Alpha GPC 600mg is one capsule dosage. Other brands I checked are 2 capsule dosages so you’re paying twice as much per dose. My issue with this product is with just how much active alpha GPC is in a one casule serving.Because raw Alpha GPC is highly hygroscopic and absorbs moisture and degrades quickly, it must be stabilized. Manufacturers typically bind it with fillers like Silicon Dioxide, Microcrystalline Cellulose and Magnesium Stearate. Alpha GPC powders are generally standardized to 50% active alpha GPC. For a 600 mg capsule, this results in 300 mg of active compound and 300 mg of stabilizers. Some brands list their product alpha GPC 50%, others do not. Supplement Facts labels for Alpha-GPC indicate the total physical weight of the ingredient blend, not the actual pure active Alpha-GPC content. Since Amazon handles the sales for this product, I could not get product support. I reached out to Now Foods through their website requesting clarification on active alpha GPC content and a copy of the Certificate of Analysis. Still waiting to hear back.I’ve been supplementing with alpha GPC 50% 300 mg (150 mg active alpha GPC) off and on for over a year. No noticeable difference. So now I’m taking Now Foods 600mg alpha GPC. No noticeable difference. No adverse reactions like headaches. If you’re new to alpha GPC, I suggest you start at a lower dosage. Too much alpha GPC make you feel like you have the flu. The half-life of Alpha-GPC is approximately 4 to 6 hours so there goes your day.I originally started supplementing with alpha GPC for potential cognitive support. Now I’m switching gears and focusing on its potential to enhance lucid dreaming. Alpha GPC combined with Huperzine A is an alternative to Galantamine, a prescription drug considered the gold standard for lucid dreaming. I am a supporter of NOW foods supplements – between them and Pure Encapsulations, those are my choices for any brands online. The consistently deliver good, quality products for a great price. I spoke to my dr about adding this to my daily supplements to help with focus and memory, as some daily challenges with stress were bothersome. I have noticed on the days that I take it, I don’t feel as stressed to find a solution, it helps me focus on the task at hand. I was able to move between tasks at work with ease and can trace it back to a few days after I started taking this. I didnt have any side effects (and I usually have upset stomach or other issues with items that do not agree with me). It has been highly effective for me and I will repurchase to use indefinitely .

Let me preface this review by saying that NOW Supplements is a quality health supplement company. They’ve been in the supplement game for a long time and have a catalog that covers practically every area of the mind and body. Also, their reputation speaks for itself as they have great reviews across the board and their prices are more reasonable than many other name brands.We got this Alpha GPC 600mg bottle to try and help our morning brain fog. Coffee doesn’t do much for us as our bodies are used to the caffeine intake. It’s more of a morning ritual if anything nowadays. I looked into this supplement on the big “R” discussion forum and many recommended 600mg max daily for helping with focus or even as a pre-workout supplement. Remember to always do your due diligence and consult with a health professional (MD, PharmD, etc.) before taking any sort of supplement. We’ve been taking this supplement daily for a month now and it is definitely not placebo as choline actively crosses the blood-brain-barrier (BBB).

In short, another good value supplement from a brand I’ve trusted for yearsNOW Supplements is one of those brands I’ve been using on and off for years, and I’ve generally had a good experience with their products. I think they offer very good value for the money without sacrificing quality just to keep the price reasonable, so I’m usually comfortable trying a new supplement from them.I liked that this provides 600 mg per serving (only need to take 1 per day, usually I take in the morning) without making the formula unnecessarily complicated. The regular, normal-sized capsules are also convenient to add to my regular supplement routine.With supplements like Alpha GPC, I don’t really expect some dramatic overnight difference, and I prefer to judge them after using them consistently for a while, by monitering its effectiveness on my energy level as well as focus. So far, this has been another straightforward supplement that seems well made and reasonably priced without any side effects (I’ve experienced so far).If you already use NOW Supplements and like the brand, this is a solid option to consider for adding Alpha GPC to your routine.

Easy to swallow
NOW is a no frills supplement company that I use for time to time. Some of their products work great for me, others not so much. I didn’t really notice any difference using this product. In all fairness it could be just me.

As a holistic nurse I’m always looking for ways to improve my own and my pet’s healthspan. I supplement my elderly dog with phosphatidylcholine to support his age related elevated liver enzymes. This is a specialized, highly bioavailable form of choline that is bound to glycerol phosphate and crosses the blood brain barrier. Regular choline is necessary for muscle and organ function, this version targets cognitive function. I’ve been using 1 capsule twice daily for my 12 year old Labrador Retriever and after 6 weeks I can say it has an amazing effect. He seems like his old self prior to the creeping doggy dementia 🤩 I trust NOW brand as it is well reviewed by the independent testing company ConsumerLab.com and I have years of experience using their various products. I have played around with various nootropics to beat the afternoon slump, but this was my first time taking a supplement with Alpha GPC. I do find that it works, giving my brain a boost and helping me claw my way through the afternoon, which is when I have a tendency to get tired. I like that I only need to take one of these pills. I usually take one around noon with no issues – it does say to take it earlier in the day, but I have taken it as late as 2 PM & haven’t had any trouble falling asleep at 2 PM. I don’t find that it works like caffeine, where you are jittery and buzzing, but rather it just wakes your brain up so that you can continue working.
