Easy to Swallow, Slightly Smelly, and Possibly Doing Something… Maybe
These methylfolate capsules are the definition of almost perfect. They’re easy to swallow, smooth, and don’t feel like you’re trying to gulp down a vitamin shaped like a Lego brick. Honestly, they go down so easily it’s almost suspicious. The Smell (Not Terrible, But Definitely Present)Let’s address the elephant in the bottle: They smell a bit. Not in a “run for your life” way, but definitely in a “yep, that’s a supplement” way. It’s noticeable, but not offensive — more like a polite reminder that vitamins are rarely glamorous. Thankfully, the smell does not translate into taste.Aftertaste: Blessedly AbsentOnce you swallow it, that’s it.No weird lingering flavor. No earthy bitterness. No “why does my mouth taste like a science lab?” moment.Just… nothing. And honestly, that’s a win.Efficacy: The Great MysteryAs for whether it’s working? Well, that’s the million‑dollar question with supplements like this. It’s not like your body sends a push notification saying, “Methylation complete!” So yes — I’m skeptical, but not in a dramatic way. More in a “I’ll keep taking it and hope for the best” way. It’s one of those supplements where you trust the process, even though the process refuses to give you any feedback.Bottom LineA solid methylfolate supplement that’s easy to swallow, has a noticeable but manageable smell, no aftertaste, and an efficacy level that’s… well… hard to gauge. But as far as supplements go, it’s a good one.

So far so good – seems like a solid, bioavailable B9 supplement!
The following is my honest review and personal opinion of this natural vitamin B9 supplement. From NOOT comes this organic methylfolate 1000mcg (per serving) DFE plant-based folic acid. This supplement provides you with “natural folate”(Vitamin B9) which is found in foods like leafy greens, citrus, beans, while “folic acid” is the synthetic form (made in a lab) and used in a lot of cheaper supplements and also added to many ‘fortified’ foods. This company sources their folate from citrus, lemon peels! Natural folate is immediately bioavailable to your body, where as folic acid needs to be converted first by your body, which can leave unmetabolized amounts in the blood. This could be a potential problem for those individuals with the MTHFR genetic variation. The fact remains that folic acid is actually more stable and better absorbed than natural full night, however folic acid needs to be converted first into the active form 5-MTHF by liver enzymes which is slow and often inefficient….. So this supplement bypasses that step! The bottle comes sealed with a plastic safety wrap around the lid and bottleneck, and the capsules are free of additives fibers hormones and maltodextins This is non-GMO gluten-free vegan and cruelty free and proudly Made in the USA in Hollywood Florida. Serving size is one capsule so this bottle will last you 2 months with one capsule taken daily. The capsules are of average size and a medium tan in color. There is a very slight smell when opening the bottle but it’s nothing off-putting. They are very easy to take and don’t get stuck in my throat. All the B vitamins are known to give you energy, but I personally have not noticed a difference although vitamin B9 is said to act upon your red blood cells. It says this is third party tested but there is no UPC code on the bottle nor certificate of third-party testing uploaded. Personally I think this is a great value for your money at only $12.99 for a 2-month supply. I have had no stomach upset or weird adverse effects so I will continue taking this.

Noot Your Average Folate—My Cells Are Doing a Happy Dance
Let’s be real: “methylfolate” sounds like something you’d need a biochemistry degree to pronounce, but after a month on these little capsules, I’m pretty sure my body is sending me thank-you notes.I picked up NOOT’s Organic Methylfolate because I was tired of feeling like my energy was running on dial-up while everyone else was on fiber. I also have that fun MTHFR gene variant (no, not that word—it’s a real thing), so regular folic acid just sits in my system like an unopened IKEA box. This stuff uses 5-MTHF from organic lemon peel, which means it’s already in the form my body can actually use. No assembly required. What I noticed:Energy: Within about 10 days, my afternoon slump felt more like a gentle slope instead of a cliff. I’m not bouncing off the walls, but I’m not dragging my feet to make coffee at 3 PM either.Mood: I’m noticeably less “ugh, everything is annoying.” My partner said I’ve been “weirdly pleasant.” I’ll take it.No weird side effects: No stomach upset, no headaches—just easy-to-swallow capsules (they’re small, which is a win). The honest bits:This isn’t a magic bullet. If you’re severely deficient, talk to a doc. But for daily maintenance and methylation support, it’s been a clean, effective option. It’s not returnable (Amazon’s policy for ingestibles), so maybe start with one bottle to see how you react. The price is fair for a plant-based, third-party-tested formula. At about $0.14 per capsule, it’s cheaper than my oat-milk latte habit.Who this is for:Anyone with MTHFR mutations who can’t process synthetic folic acid.People looking for a clean, filler-free folate source (no weird binders, non-GMO, vegetarian). Those pre-conception or early in pregnancy who want a bioactive folate form (though, obviously, check with your healthcare provider first).Anyone wanting to support homocysteine levels, red blood cell formation, or just general “cellular housekeeping.”Who might skip it:If you already get enough folate from diet and don’t have absorption issues, this might be overkill. If you’re looking for a multivitamin—this is just folate.Bottom line: NOOT’s Methylfolate is like giving your cells premium fuel instead of regular. It’s a straightforward, well-made supplement that does what it claims without the junk. My only complaint? I wish the bottle was bigger—60 capsules is a two-month supply, and I’ll definitely be repurchasing.Pros:Plant-based, bioactive 5-MTHF from organic lemon peelFiller-free, non-GMO, third-party testedGentle on the stomach, no aftertasteSupports energy, mood, and methylation without synthetic folic acidGood for both men and womenCons:Non-returnable (standard for supplements)Only 60 capsules per bottle—wish there was a bulk optionIf you don’t need methylfolate specifically, a standard B-complex might be more cost-effective

Gotta Be Mindful Of What You Take With It
On the fence about this. I’ve been taking these for about three weeks now, and my experience has been a bit of a mixed bag, mostly because of how I’ve timed them with my meals.First off, it’s a high-potency 1000mcg dose, which is great if you need that extra kick for clarity and mood. I definitely felt a bit more ‘even’ and focused, especially in that second week. However, these also have a ‘prebiotic blend’ (fiber, rice husk, etc.) in them. I found that if I take these with a meal that’s already pretty heavy on the starches—like a big plate of potatoes—they can make my stomach feel a little heavy or sluggish, like it’s too much for my system to process at once.If you’re planning to try these, my advice is to take them with a meal that’s got good protein and fats, and maybe keep the heavy carbs a little lower when you do. It’s a high-quality product, but what you eat or not eat does effect you.

Improve Your Mood!Improve Your Mood!
I was skeptical about this supplement. So many make outlandish claims. So I made sure to use this a whole month before writing my review. With a stressful job, I was feeling on edge at the end of the day. Short fuse and just needed to be left alone at night. But after taking the Noot Methylfolate, I actually do feel more even tempered at the end of the day. Not completely unflappable but, I have found it has helped more than I initially hoped it would.I know a lot of people have mentioned an odor. I do not think these smell. I mean, not any different than any other herbal supplement I have ever taken so, I don’t understand all the discussion about it. The bottle has an almost silicone like feel to it. I actually really like the bottle.I have not experienced any side effects from taking it. I just had annual blood work done this week and all of my numbers were in the normal category, so I haven’t had anything go too high or too low by adding this to my daily regimen either. As with most herbal supplements, it is hard to 100% say any effects were directly from the supplement but, for the price, 2 months worth in a single bottle, with natural organic ingredients? It seems like a no-brainer if it makes me feel a little bit more capable of getting through my day. I think it’s a good value and intend to get more when I run out.

Easy to swallow and only one pill a dayEasy to swallow and only one pill a day
These are smaller-sized hard shell capsules, so they are pretty easy to swallow. The serving size is only one capsule, making this a 60-day supply. The expiration date is about 2 and a half years away.
