To reduce the likelihood of developing skin cancer, I try to avoid prolonged sun exposure and diligently apply sunscreen daily. Smoother, less scaly skin
I originally bought this product on the recommendation of my dermatologist as a kind of an insurance against skin cancer based on the results of a study indicating that nicotinamide (niacinamide) significantly reduces the risk of developing new skin cancer. I am a fair-skinned redhead. But I was very surprised to find that in the 6 weeks since I’ve been taking this B3 supplement, my skin has become softer, smoother, less scaly, and less red. The change is striking. The red, rough, scaly spots are apparently called actinic keratoses. These are precancerous lesions. I intended to buy insurance against skin cancer, but I’ve seen improvements in my existing sun damage.This same company makes another nicotinamide product that includes vitamin D3. I chose this product because each capsule contains a higher dose of nicotinamide (500 mg in this product vs. 250 mg in the combination product). I like the idea of taking fewer caps (the recommended dose is 500 mg twice per day), and I have a vitamin D3 product that I already take.

Solderm is an outstanding product with various formulas produced by physicians that have done strong research to back their findings. Unfortunately, the packaging on all types of formulas is very similar, somewhat confusing on the Amazon website, and I ordered the wrong product. It does not qualify for a return, so I had to re-order the correct one and pay again.
