I have found the “”fast-acting” version of this product to be effective in reducing the severity of a migraine attack, especially if I catch it early, when the symptoms are just arising. But the product packaged as “fast acting” is expensive, coming just 10 to a box for about $1.13 per pill. Since you take 5 pills during an attack–3 right away and the other 2 after some time–that’s only enough for two episodes. Having studied the labels of both versions, it appears to me that the “pro-active” and “fast-acting” softgels are exactly the same. The “pro-active” or preventive version, comes 60 softgels to a bottle, and currently costs 45 cents per pill. The only detectable difference is the packaging: The fast-acting version comes with each pill individually sealed. For this reason, I keep a box of the fast-acting in my car, figuring it’s better protected from weather extremes, but keep a bottle of the less expensive pro-active version in my medicine cabinet for use if an attack occurs at home. I did use the pro-active on a daily basis for a year or so but was not convinced doing so reduced the frequency of migraines. But as someone else said, our bodies and experiences with medications are different.

Works for my REGULAR headaches – not just for migraines…
I was having a lot of headaches for about two weeks when I decided to wean off of caffiene. They weren’t migranes, but it did feel like a golf ball expanding behind my forehead. I gave this a try (as I tend to avoid ibuprophen and NSAIDS and tylenol never does much for me). I didn’t have high expectations so was pleasantly surprised when it seemed to significantly decrease my headache. It wasn’t a fluke, as it had this same effect each day that I took it.An interesting side effect I had was that it also made me feel a bit “dreamy”, which is the best word I can find to describe it. It was this odd, half present but also half in a dreamy, unfocused, trance like land (nothing intense, just lightly…). I checked my various references and didn’t see anything that would indicate this is a usual effect. However, it does seem that the main constituent is sometimes used for anxiety. If it works on the same pathways as most anxiolytics (like benzodiazapines) then perhaps it is enhancing GABA, which could account for the dreamy trance like feeling. I will say that this side effect made me feel that I shouldn’t be driving when taking it – I just wasn’t focused enough to be driving a vehicle (so consider this before taking it for the first time, just in case you have the same effect)SUMMARY: Works for headaches but may create a dreamy, unfocused, trance feeling state in some & if so driving a vehicle should be avoided.

I have been seeing a neurologist for 8 years and just transferred to a new one. After emphasizing that I preferred herbal or natural means to manage my headaches and migraines, I was told about this product for the first time.For me, this product was an immediate help. I purchased the 60 capsule bottle as a trial (50 mg), and was surprised to find that 60 capsules only represented one-third of the bottle.I have been taking this product faithfully for two weeks. It says that for the first 45 days, new users should take product three times per day then reduce to once per day. Well, I have already seen a big difference in myself. Two days after taking the product, I had a bad cold, started my period, and the weather was rainy and overcast (all three of these scenarios are “triggers” for me). I was pleased to discover I had barely a light headache and this went away fairly quickly. Also, I went to a conference where people are known to have perfume and did not get sick. Ever since I have had this product, there has been no incident of headache or migraine.The only side effect I have noticed is that I have a looser bowel movement (not diarrhea) but for me, this is a blessing and not a problem.I have been researching butterbur and some wish to use a higher amount of the agent (75 mg rather than 50 mg). I am unsure if Petadolex sells 75 mg or not. I am also interested to see if this product will help me during allergy season. So far, I love this product and will continue using it. Very effective for me – will definitely continue using this product.

What a relief.It is a natural food grain like Wheat and Rice. No side effects as it is natural food. Rich in calcium which helps. It also has other benefits. Google for Ragi Flour, you will get details. None of them in google search talk about migraine benefits from Ragi Flour. But it did help me and my cousin sister who started taking after hearing from me. I would recommend to try this natural remedy to my fellow Migraine sufferers.Amazon sells Ragi Flour. It Worked For Me
It worked for me. A near life-long migraine sufferer, I have finally stopped relying on pharmaceutical remedies to help me manage the migraines. Even more amazing is that butterbur not only helped me to manage the migraines, but I am almost symptom free. Butterbur reduced the frequency from about 4 to 6 per month (lasting up to 3 days) to roughly 2 per year! It took about a year of daily use of this plant extract to bring me to my current relief. I’ve been relying on butterbur for about 3 years now, and have turned my back on prescription pharmaceutical remedies (which were not remedial). Pure butterbur extract (Petasites hybridus) sold as Petadolex Pro-Active under license from the German firm of Weber & Weber, or others which are under license from Weber & Weber is the only butterbur, which works in the dosage suggested while not causing stomach pains and other reactions. I’ve tried other butterbur extracts, but none comes close to Weber & Weber’s extraction method. It took me a few years of listening to clients, other professionals that suffered under serious migraine issues, recommending butterbur before I finally tried the plant extract. If you try it you must be consistent, disciplined and not give up. If it works for you, as it has worked for me, you will consider it one of earth’s miracle plants. Just be sure to use the extract, which is licensed by the firm of Weber & Weber because the plant can be toxic, or cause severe stomach pain if not properly extracted.

After a month think it’s helping
I have a very weird kind of migraine- basilar migraine. It causes all kinds of weird stuff in my head and body. Feel like my head is expanding like a balloon and that some heavy liquid is being stirred around in my brain. Double vision or blindness, balance probs, vertigo and sometimes numbness down the left side of my body. If I happen to be driving and one comes on, I can’t stop veering to the right side of the road, like something pulls me to the right- same happens when walking. Have had to call husband to rescue me along the side of the road a couple times.I take four different meds for migraine and they work most of the time. But some days are just bad and nothing works. I was having low grade ongoing facial and head pain. A little different than a splitting headache. Some sinus involvement, and some old head injuries involved. Found this products made from butterbur, which helps dilate the small arteries in the head. I don’t wake up with these dull headaches anymore. Just one a day has fixed what ailed me.
