    I have been taking these Beet Root Extract pills and am through the bottle now. The supply lasts for a good while especially given the price (100 days). I find these type of supplements that take a natural ingredient rather than isolating some molecule or nutrient a bit better. This one helps in lowering blood pressure, boosting exercise endurance, and fighting inflammation. These effects come from a high amount of natural inorganic nitrates and antioxidant pigments called betalains.

    I’ll be upfront: after taking these as directed, I noticed absolutely no difference whatsoever. No change in energy, no change in endurance, nothing. So I did a little digging to understand why, and what I found was really eye-opening.Beet root’s claimed benefits, mainly blood pressure support, improved athletic endurance, and antioxidant effects, come from its natural nitrate content. The problem is that research from Purdue University found that beet juice delivers anywhere from 230 to 1,000 milligrams of nitrates per serving, while capsule supplements like this one typically contain only 5 to 10 milligrams. That’s a staggering difference, and likely explains why I felt nothing at all.In other words, the science behind beet root is actually pretty solid, but it applies mostly to beet juice, not capsules. If you’re looking for the real cardiovascular or performance benefits, you’d be better served by actual beet juice or a concentrated liquid form rather than a softgel supplement.On the positive side, the softgels are easy to swallow, there are no unpleasant side effects, the bottle contains 300 softgels which is a very generous supply, and the product is Non-GMO and Gluten Free which I appreciate. So it’s not a bad product per se, it just may not deliver the results most buyers are hoping for.Three stars because the product itself is fine quality, but I can’t in good conscience give more when I experienced zero noticeable benefit. Do your research before buying capsule-form beet root supplements!
