4 Servings Per Bar – 4g Protein per Serving
So let’s get into this. According to the listing this is a “Premium” dark chocolate. I’ve had a LOT of chocolate in my time and in my opinion the manufacturer is really stretching the ‘premium’ usage. When you compare some traditional quality, Swiss dark chocolate, there is no contest that the alternatives (sans +protein) are far better than Chocotein. This to me is typical US produced chocolate with a draw to the protein content.Now, IMO there is a time and place for this chocolate. The 4g of protein per serving to me is pretty low, it’s slightly higher than an egg, but far less than a 4oz chocolate protein shake. But.. if you were to say be making cookies, or low carb high protein deserts, etc. this would be great to melt and top off the desert, adding another layer of flavor and protein.Regarding the price, it’s very high for 3 bars. It’s almost $9 a bar, where you can get quality equivalent size chocolate bars (less protein and more sugar) for about $4 – $6/bar. If the price point was better I might consider recommending this. But for the basic dark chocolate taste, combine with the higher than normal market price… to me this is just a profit grab trying to jump in on the protein first market. It’s ok don’t get me wrong, but I think there are better alternatives out there.

Good chocolate if you like whey protein powder
I am very particular about my chocolate. I like only 70% or greater, and no fillers or additions except the natural stuff. Honestly, this is pretty good chocolate. Not my personal favorite, BUT if you really like whey protein powder and chocolate, you’ll probably like it.-The texture is smooth and it melts nicely when you eat it.-However, towards the end of enjoying the flavor, the graininess of the whey does come through-The chocolate is rich, without being bitter. Very on point for a 71% cocoa.-The value point for me in this is not great, honestly. $25 for 3 larger dark chocolate bars – over $8 each is just too much when it’s not something exotic or with special vanilla beans or something. Plus, the texture of it at the end of the flavor profile is just not something I cared for.-I think the protein aspect of this is just an addition – it’s definitely still a treat and not the way I’d plan to get my protein for the day.-4 of us in the family tried this. Two (the teens) loved it- one has a whey protein shake every day and the other one doesn’t. Neither of the adults cared for this too much – it was fine.-It breaks apart nicely and is easily shared, definitely fresh and a nice quality chocolate.-

Tried these Chocotein bars mainly for the “high protein chocolate” idea, and overall they’re pretty good — just not exactly what I expected in terms of protein.The chocolate itself is solid. At 71% cocoa, it has a nice rich flavor that’s slightly bitter but still balanced. It definitely tastes like real dark chocolate, not a typical protein bar, which is a big plus.That said, the protein content is a bit underwhelming. Each serving only has about 4g of protein, which is noticeably lower than what you might expect from something marketed as protein-focused. It’s more like a regular chocolate with a small boost rather than a true protein snack.Texture is slightly different from traditional chocolate — a bit firmer and not as smooth — but still enjoyable overall.Sugar is lower than typical chocolate bars, which is nice, and the ingredient list is simple and clean, which I appreciate.Overall, it’s a good-tasting dark chocolate with a bit of added protein, but if you’re buying it specifically for protein intake, it might not fully deliver.

These are really good and I’m pretty picky about my sweets. I’d rather just eat a reesecup than torture myself with a healthy alternative with 3,000 ingredients. Well this isn’t the later. I forgot this was still a treat and ate half a bar in one sitting. I think Simone hoping for a nestle bar would be disappointed but I know I was not. Will definitely get again.

Impressive combination of great taste and less unhealthy ingredients
Up until now, I have never heard of “chocotein” before, and the name itself sparked by curiosity. The first thing that comes to mind is some kind of chocolate-flavored protein shake…which I have had before and did not really care for. However, the taste of this chocolate bar actually reminds me instead of the kind of pure chocolate taste that comes forth when you melt dark chocolate chips for the purpose of baking chocolate chip cookies…one of those classic smells that bring back nice memories from childhood for so many of us. I could easily eat this whole bar, and not for a moment, suspect that it has half the sugar of regular chocolate. The fact that it has double the protein as well (they snuck some whey protein in there) is like an added bonus. In addition to this, it also does not have any erythritol or palm oil. The list of ingredients is impressively small. And even with these multiple characteristics impressively allowing for it to be less unhealthy than a typical chocolate bar, the taste, I believe, is actually better than most “regular” chocolate bars…indeed no small accomplishment. I also notice that this is made in Switzerland; it is so good that I can’t help but wonder how many other delicious treats are over there just waiting for me to taste…perhaps this chocolate bar will help influence my next vacation plans, so I can hopefully discover more treats that taste as good as this one!
