Look out… not for everyone
This prebiotic simply proves a fundamental fact about human physiology… we are all quite different and can react to any pharmaceutical or nutraceutical very differently. I noticed the rather unpleasant gas and stool odor this caused immediately upon taking the recommended 1 cap each morning. I was hoping the issue would resolve after a few weeks as my GI got used to seeing it. I was wrong… after finishing the bottle a month later, the horrible odor still persisted (and gradually diminished a few days after finishing it). Perhaps this is expected and a good thing… but I’m not pleased with blowing up the bathroom each morning. Yes, fecal matter should smell, but this is MUCH worse than anything that has left my body I’m sorry to say. Just beware that this product may radically change your routine and possibly not for the better.

Live Akkermansia is commonly measured in AFU (active florescent units). Studies have shown that the pasteurized form of Akkermansia, which is all dead, is the superior form and would have to be measured in TFU. Since there’s nothing on the label to indicate that this supplement is the pasteurized form, I have to assume it’s not. This means the TFU is likely used to inflate the count rather than represent the superior pasteurized form. A little time with AI can further explain all this if you’re curious to know more.I really like that it gives me good comprehensive/balanced approach to gut health in a simple once-a-day capsule that I can take along with my other daily supplements. While the start was a little rocky for me, the overall experience has been positive and effective. Since there’s no indication on the labeling that this is the pasteurized form, it should be noted that being measured in TFU vs. AFU COULD indicate a misleading amount of the probiotic. With that said, and as mentioned, my experience has been positive and effective, and I do recommend the product.

There are studies that show that Akkermansia can help with GLP-1 production, but is there an actual perceivable difference in apatite control? I’ve not found any benefit after many months of supplementing with various brands including most recently this one.On the upside, I like that it’s made in the USA in a GMP facility. This provides some assurance that you are going to get a quality product. As for the cost per dose, it comparable to other products but you have to be careful when comparing products, as some require two capsules to get the stated amount whereas this one bases it’s label claims on just one capsule.
