These pregnancy smart immune capsules are a great supplement whether you are pregnant or not. I have not noticed a strong taste or smell with these. The serving size is 3 capsules which is not ideal. Since the bottle comes with 60 capsules that means it is only a 20 day supply if you take them regularly. I did remove a star for this reason.

I ordered these for my sister in law during her pregnancy because I liked that they were specifically formulated with pregnancy in mind and included several vitamins and minerals in one supplement.The combination of vitamin C, zinc, vitamin B6, vitamin D3, and magnesium makes the formula seem pretty comprehensive, especially for someone who is already trying to keep up with all the extra nutritional needs that come with pregnancy.I also liked that it was formulated by an OB/GYN and marketed as pregnancy safe. That gave me a little more confidence compared with randomly choosing an immune supplement off the shelf. Of course, pregnancy supplements are something I would still have a doctor approve before taking, especially when someone is already using a prenatal vitamin.My sister in law found it convenient to have these nutrients combined into one product, but it was not something that completely impressed us. There are also quite a few ingredients to consider when adding it alongside a prenatal, so I would definitely check the labels carefully to avoid doubling up on certain vitamins and minerals.It is a convenient option and I like the idea behind the formula, but I think there are other supplements that may be simpler depending on what someone actually needs during pregnancy.

Odd product
This is an odd product. Not in terms of taste or smell or pill size (those are inoffensive) but in terms of product niche. It’s unclear how this formulation is better or more appropriate for pregnant woman than a typical immune support supplement.The one thing that concerns me is the high vitamin D level. Vit D is not water-soluble, so it bioaccumulates in a way that vit C does not. This means that there is an unsafe level of vit D; more is not necessarily better. Most pregnant people will be taking a prenatal multivitamin with vit D (and probably at the upper end of what’s recommended). The recommended level for pregnant or breastfeeding women is 15 mcg; this supplement contains TWICE that.If a person is taking additional vit D supplementation, and drinking milk and eating healthy food rich in vit D, and taking this supplement, then they could easily exceed the accepted upper safe limit of 100mcg. (Too much vit D, or hypervitaminosis D, causes hypercalcemia and can damage kidneys, as well as result in a lot of unpleasant symptoms like vomiting, arrhythmia, bone pain, and brain fog—none of which are good if you’re pregnant!)On the plus side, that vit D value is spread over three capsules, so you can take fewer if you need to.
