Checks all the boxes for me!

I have sensitive skin and lots of allergies so I like to make my own face/body powders. Zinc adds sun protection and absorbs excess oil. This zinc oxide is high quality and priced right for a full pound! Product of India, not tested on animals, 100% pure with no artificial color added. There are no preservatives added and the expiration date on the product I received is 3 years into the future.

Lack of information makes this useless to me

While Zinc oxide has many uses, in this powder form it requires some DIY recipes to put it into use.I looked at the manufacturer HerbsBotanica.com website that is on the box and the item is not even listed. Though this gave me doubts as to whether this item has been discontinued, the box is printed with “MFG date” Jun 2025 & “Expiry Date” May 2028. I acquired this box in July 2025, so it does appear to be a current item. Other items sold on HerbsBotanica.com have recipes on the website, but this unlisted item is useless without Herb Botanica’s recommended recipes. They should have been included with the product or at least posted onlineI did my own online search for Zinc oxide recipes, but different manufacturers recommend different proportions probably due to the differences in potency of product they sell.

    Zinc Oxide Powder

The Zinc Oxide Powder seems to be pretty good. I got it for different craft projects. Plus to make my own sunscreen. It mixed great with my carrot oil and raspberry berry seed oils. Will definitely get it again.

    plenty of uses

I did not get this Herbs Botanica Zinc Oxide Powder for skincare recipes. Although, if you’re into DIY beauty, this is a must-have ingredient. I got this as an ingredient to make pottery glazes. The one-pound bag is huge and is a great value. It blends easily with other ingredients and worked well in my recipe.

Big Bag Of Zinc PowderBig Bag Of Zinc Powder

I got this powdered zinc to use for making sunscreen and some stage makeup. The first thing to note is this is a big package! You get a lot of zinc oxide. There is more than enough to make several colors of makeup and more than enough left over to make sunscreen for a year! The product is very natural. It isn’t a pure white like other product which is fine. It is still plenty white. One thing I really like is that this powder doesn’t cake as much as some others do. It is a very fine, even powder that mixes well. The particles aren’t as fine as some, but that is better for me, as it won’t get absorbed into my bloodstream through my skin. Zinc is safe on your skin, but you don’t want a lot being absorbed day after day. I also like the fact that it isn’t coated and doesn’t have any dyes or fragrances added. I try to be careful what I put on my skin, especially my face, and I think this is a good quality product. Considering I’m getting a full pound of zinc, it seems like an excellent value too.

    For DIY creationsFor DIY creations

As I navigate how to keep skin healthy and retain moisture I found myself wanting to make the perfect lotion balm to fight eczema. This zinc powder mixed in easily to my first creation. There was no smell or clumping of the powder as I added it to my DIY cream. Zinc is said to be a great product for DIY products from diaper rash to sunscreen creations so it is a multi use product. I like that this came in a paper box (better for the environment) and it had a lot of product included. Most recipes call for small amounts. I think this box will last for a long amount of time which makes this an excellent value. Powder did not cake in the box. I appreciated that the box also had some ideas on how to use Zinc in other ways so it can spark other DIY creations.

Did Not Meet My Quality ExpectationsDid Not Meet My Quality Expectations

I ordered this zinc oxide to use in sunscreen and other DIY skincare products, but it didn’t meet the quality expectations I have for cosmetic-grade ingredients.Packaging:While the box included a lot number, expiration date, and ingredient list, the labeling was difficult to read due to small font size. The label appeared to be printed on paper and attached externally, and the box itself was dented upon arrival.Texture and Feel:The powder wasn’t as fine as I expected for it contained some larger particles and had a tacky, clingy feel that didn’t wash off easily. This texture raised concerns about how well it would incorporate into formulations.Documentation and Information:There was no Certificate of Analysis (COA) included, and I was unable to access additional product details via the printed QR codes. For personal care projects. I typically look for materials that include verification of grade and particle size.Overall:This product didn’t meet the criteria I use for formulating skincare items, so I chose not to use it. Others may have a different experience, but I recommend checking that the product you select includes the documentation you need for your specific use.
