My son starting having stomach issues at six weeks as did my first son. I have used gas drops and gripe water both of which I found to be useful but also created other issues that caused my baby discomfort. I happened upon Udo’s choice infant probiotics when looking for alternative options to help to ease his pain. It got to the point with my first son that I would be silently terrified for when he would wake because his stomach was always such a mess. Constipated, gassy, burpy and spit up a lot. I did NOT want to go through this with my second son. I gave him the probiotics in the morning as I had read that it can make things a little worse before it gets better. He was very fussy toward the end of the day but ended up sleeping through the night for the first time and has every night ever since. (He was eating at midnight, 3, 6 and 9am) The next day he was not fussy at all and has been an angle ever since. He poops everyday without a red face and the screaming and grunting that usually goes with it. I really could not recommend this product more. My only regret is that I wish I would have known about this with my first son so I could have enjoyed the baby stage a little more and I wish I would have started my second from day one. This is a great product. If you go on to Udo’s website it says clearly on there that this product is to be refrigerated AFTER opening but can be left out for short periods which makes it great for travel. (My husband left it out one night for 3 hours so I checked if we needed to buy a new bottle.) If your child is ‘colicky’ please give this a try. There was a study in Italy that was done on the effect of probiotics and so called diagnosed ‘colic’ babies that said the success rate was as high as 95%. I think in the years to come you will see more doctors embrace the use of probiotics in infants.

Terrific!
I wasn’t able to breast feed my twins and it was very difficult for me emotionally. I was having to give them formula and they had acid reflux as well as constipation. They were fussy all of the time. I decided to give probiotics a try. I added this to their formula every morning and I IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference in their behavior as well as their stool. It has lasted me six months with 2 babies so that makes it very affordable (formula is so expensive). In fact, if they get constipated now I know it is only because I must have missed a dose or two. ALSO, when my whole family got a stomach virus, the twins did not. I later found out from my doctor that lactobacillus infantis helps fight stomach-upsetting bacteria!! How great is that? I highly recommend this product!

Saved my baby!
My baby has always had problems pooping, she would get so constipated that I wold have to give her a suppository weekly! She would scream and cry while this happened. This problem went on for months! It started when she was 2 months old and no matter what we did nothing helped her. We changed her formula and that didn’t even help, we used the Gerber drops that were said to have probiotics that would be helpful. Those didn’t work and were pretty pricey for what you go. I took a chance on this product, I was trusting other reviews on it. The review’s said over and over again that it helps with constipation, it really does! For the fist time my daughter didn’t cry, scream or need my help while going poop. It says to give it to your baby once a day, or for a more aggressive approach give it in every bottle. My 10 month only has around 3 6oz bottles a day and I just add it in with her formula for each bottle. This product is magic! Also, some reviews said they sent it back or didn’t use it because it didn’t come cold, mine came with an ice pack that was no longer frozen. If you take the time to read the bottle it says that it needs to be kept cold AFTER you open it. This is completely safe and fine to be room temperature UNTIL OPENED, then you need to keep it in the fridge. The company also sent a card with their phone number, if you have questions about it call them and ask.

Wonderful product!
I bought this for my 6 month old son in hopes it would help with his eczema, along with liquid biotin. I ordered both at the same time and the Udo’s arrived first, about two days after I ordered it. I immediately started my son off with it and put it in his formula. He didn’t appear to know that the probiotic was in it. After just three days of giving my son the probiotic, I noticed a dramatic improvement in his skin even before the biotin arrived. He was also in an exceptionally good mood after taking the probiotic even though he was teething. I give this product five stars because it is clearly effective, and I feel good knowing that it is specially formulated for infants.Others have mentioned the lack of refrigeration, but I think the manufacturer is correct that it does not affect the product to any significant degree given the results I have had with it. Perhaps it may make a difference in the summer, I don’t know. I purchased mine in the winter in the South when the high temps were in the 60’s and 70’s.One tip I would give anyone who is new to giving probiotics to infants is to stick with the dose of 1/4 teaspoon a day. On the bottle it says the max dose is 1/4 teaspoon three times a day, but that was too much for my baby. He had diarrhea and was throwing up at that dosage level. 1/4 teaspoon a day was more than enough to see results without messing up his tummy. This advice is not just specific to this brand but any probiotic. My experience with the dosing is another reason why I believe the lack of refrigeration is not that much of an issue–at least if it is not that hot out.

I decided to try these probiotics on a friend’s recommendation after weeks of listening to a crying, distressed, gassy infant. She receives breast milk exclusively. I am not typically a person who turns toward homeopathic or natural remedies, but I got desperate! I’m so glad that I went this direction, as we have been using these probiotics for about two months now and I am quite pleased with the results.After two days of use, my infant seems to have significantly less gas and tummy rumbling than before. Also, her stooling pattern changed from frequent, small stools to one large stool per day. Previously, my baby would strain and get incredibly uncomfortable while trying to pass a bowel movement (even though they were soft and liquid), I believe from all of her gas. After the use of the probiotics, she is content while stooling and doesn’t seem the least bit uncomfortable. A drastic change in the odor of her stool was noticed as well (however, not for the better). 🙂 Two months later, baby and mom are still happy and gas-free!The dosing calls for 1/4 tsp one to three times per day. I give her 1/8 tsp in the morning bottle and her evening bottle. At this dosing, we still have about half a bottle left after 2 months, and I appreciate the value in this! This product is a white, powder like substance that clumps up a bit when placed into the breast milk. It mixes better once the breast milk is warmed, but still will leave behind some residue in the bottle. Sometimes, I have to break up clumps with my fingers to get them to dissolve into the milk (reason for 4 stars instead of 5). I’m not sure how one would administer these if they have not yet introduced the bottle – I suppose you could sweep them into the baby’s mouth with a finger.Many reviews discuss the need for refrigeration of this product. While the packaging does state that its shelf life is longer if refrigerated, it does not exclusively state that it MUST be refrigerated. I do keep this product in the fridge, but I am convinced that this product was not overly damaged by being out of the fridge during the shipping process.Overall, I would recommend this product to parents who have a baby with an unhappy tummy. It’s worth a try to reduce the crying and fussing.

If your child has colic or keeps getting gastrointestinal bugs from daycare this is for your baby/toddler. I’ve been giving this to my son daily from two weeks old to 12 months old then cut back to every other day in a bottle or liquid. My son has NEVER had a gastrointestinal bug ever and all my friends kids are running over with them ALL the time. I literally attribute it all to this product. I’ve used the brand name liquid drops also, they work too. Also would be great for any child that is experiencing ADD/ADHD symptoms to see if they had leaky gut maybe….or serotonin imbalance….it’s all made in your gut. Great product only complaint is I wish they shipped cold. I just wanted to update my review as my son was later diagnosed with Autism/Aspergers Disorder and is now 4.5 years old. Probiotics are a daily part of our life forever and ever. Still wish these were cold packed from start to finish like they come at Whole Foods but if you have a little one with tummy troubles this is still the best choice. As I type my daughter is in my tummy due in 6 weeks…….she is at statistical risk for autism, yes; we will probably have her on this from birth on. I also noticed a customer had a picture of the formula she feeds her baby; uhhhhhhh just to let anyone know they have MORE corn syrup solids/sugar in their formula than any other brand. If your kid has a yeast/gut flora imbalance uhhhhh I wouldn’t feed it with more sugar…….just a thought.

Great product!
Our son had awful Colic and reflux and from the time he would wake up until the time he dozed back off again, he was constantly screaming. Picking him up, swaddling, the swing, the bouncer, even during feedings, he was fighting and screaming. I was right along side him crying. Even asleep, he was constantly stirring and couldn’t get a good rest because he would be right back up in 15 mins ready for another 2hr cry! It’s hard on ANY parent to want to do something to help your baby and nothing is working. Everything I read said it would get better by month 3, I couldn’t wait that long. I was going crazy, seriously. I couldn’t take it. My doctor FINALLY told us about a probiotic but the one he recommended was like $40! Yeah, uh no! So we searched Amazon and found this. By the second day, our baby was a complete different kid. For once you could put him down and he would be silent. He would finally just sit! He didn’t seem so uncomfortable anymore and I was finally able to get out of the rut and enjoy my newborn. This product and prayer were the only things that got me through. I recommend this to ANYBODY who may be experiencing the same thing. It’s sad, it’s depressing and is almost unbearable. Don’t wait as long as we did before getting this!

Holy grail for eczema
We had been suffering with my toddlers eczema for about 8 months. Nothing seemed to help. We were on a strict diet, tried all the creams and protocols, and it seemed to get worse or stay the same. We were losing sleep because my son was itching. It was so so so bad. I was at my wits end and asked ChatGTP for help and it recommended this. Within a week my son’s eczema improved. About a month later and his skin is just about normal. I could cry tears of relief! We give him his daily dose every morning in an apple sauce, first thing. This probiotic is a god send!
