My Treat-Loving Cat Wouldn’t Even Try Them
My cat has the herpes virus which often comes with rescue cats. It’s a virus that never leaves their system so I wanted something to deal with the flares of the cold-like symptoms of the virus. I’ve had success in the past with L-Lysine that I was pleased with so I decided to try these chews since my cat loves treats and it’s very easy to just give them a treat. Out of the package I thought they were a little too big for a cat, about 3/4 inch and they felt kind of heavy. I broke the treat into 4 little pieces before I gave it to her. I wasn’t convinced at that point she would eat them. The scent is OK as far as cat treats go. I’m not sure how effective they are because my cat refused to eat them. She’s not a picky eater and she usually goes crazy over treats no matter what kind, so I was still a little surprised she didn’t eat them. She usually tries everything and then won’t eat it again if she doesn’t like it, but she wouldn’t even try these. I only took off two stars because I didn’t think it was fair to take off any more stars since I didn’t have a chance to see if the treats would be effective in taming her virus symptoms.

Where’s the meat?
I offered these soft chews to 3 of my cats, and none of them seemed very enthusiastic about them. They all seem interested in the smell and will lick at them. However, they will either hesitate to eat the chews or take a bite and not bother to eat the whole thing. It’s like they don’t enjoy the texture or they’re not quite sure if it’s actually edible. Looking at the ingredients, I can see why. The closest thing to meat in these chews is “natural chicken liver FLAVOR”. They don’t seem all that soft to me. Since these are intended to be a supplement and cats should only have one or two per day, it might not be a horrible thing that the kitties don’t want to instantly gobble them all up. I probably don’t need to worry about my cats getting into the bag and consuming above the daily recommended dose. The size of each soft chew seems typical of cat treats, and none of the cats have had any issues with them.

My cat is very picky but she loves these. She jumps up on my lap and can’t wait to dig into these. Lysine helps her watery eyes and when she takes these daily, I don’t notice eye issues. The fact that she eats these makes me happy. They’re pricy but totally worth it to help your cats health.

I mix these chews with my cat’s wet food to add nutrition to their diet
I picked up these soft chews because I just wanted to add some nutrition to my cats’ diet. I have purchased some drops from this brand before and they were really high quality.L-lysine is a nutrient that is very beneficial for cats. I just give them a couple of these soft chews mixed in their wet food. They don’t like it enough to eat it plain so I have to hide it unfortunately. That’s fine as long as it gets in their belly, I don’t really care that they don’t eat it on its own.They seem to be soft and chewy and they don’t smell bad. It’s too soon to tell how effective they are because my cats take a lot of cat treat supplements. They are indoor cats so I just want to give them that extra bit of nutrition. I like how there’s not a bunch of junk or chemicals Felisyl’s products. You get a good amount of nutritional treats in the bag. I know this will last a long time even with two cats.
