My husband and I use L-lysine at the first inkling we might be coming down with something. It has the reputation of stopping viruses from replicating. We have had good luck taking a “loading dose” of 2000 mg right at the start, then 1000 mg 3 times daily. It can be taken either on an empty stomach or with food. We may have a few mild symptoms develop and last for a short while, as everyone around us is really sick with whatever virus is going around.Another benefit of using this is that you can “do it yourself” without waiting for the doctor appointment, and even if what you have is not a virus, it won’t hurt you. It is not expensive. I am not sure whether children should be given L-lysine though.

みなさんのレビューで大変助かっていますので、自分も書きたいと思います。あくまで個人の感想、体験です。４月末、購入後、一日1錠服用するも、1ヶ月後に、なぜか脇にぺルぺス（脇は初めて）。みなさんのレビューを参考にして、ぺルぺスを確認してからは1日３錠服用。もちろんバルトレックスも服用。その後は、自己判断で一日２錠を服用。しかし残念ながら、９月に口唇ヘルペスに。現在はファムビルを服用中。今までのぺルぺスの中では一番軽いです。もともと夏はヘルペスになることがあまりないことから、リジンの効果かどうかははっきりしませんが、こういったものは長く様子を見ないとなんとも言えないので、またその後どうなったかレビューできたらしたいと思います。私は薬を飲むのが得意（？）なので、バルトレックス並みにどでかいですが、私は飲むのは大丈夫でした。ちなみに女性です。秋ごろより半年間は、ほぼ毎月ヘルペスになる状況が数年続いていて、大変悩んで調べましたが、強い日光に当たらないようにしたりする以外に画期的な方法もないので、このリジンを信じてしばらく続ける予定でいます。

Cold sore prevention
I’ve been taking this for its non-proven cold sore relief capacity. I have been free from cold sores the entire time, except for the week I went on vacation and forgot to pack these. By the time I got home I had a huge cold sore on my chin. I was getting them non-stop before I started taking these, so I believe they work. They don’t seem to be speeding up the healing process at all, but I find them to be a great preventative measure. I take one each night before bed.

VERY LARGE PILL.
I have used this product for years. It is very good!! HOWEVER, I felt it necessary to write about it…BEWARE these pills are VERY Large and difficult to swallow (they do Not have a slick outer coating). I Have choked in the past when it became lodged in my throat (very scary!!) I still use this product, but Since the choking event I have started breaking them in half. Just thought you all should know.

This seem to work well and do not cause an upset stomach or anything. They are large tablets so it you have trouble swallowing big pills they might not be for you. We will continue to buy them because they seem to work well.

Takes Down the Cold Sores
Husband loves this product and any good Lysine. He swears it takes down his cold sores and reduces his colds. If he feels it coming on he take one per day for like a week. I have tried them and they have some value for the immune system but I cannot identify precisely what. Its a big honking pill so prepare. We have seen no difference between this version or NOWS version or any other version from a brand name company.

Gluten-Free! Good for skin.
I have Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disease that is triggered by gluten. Until 2018, I didn’t realize that this is something that I had until it was confirmed by a doctor. Before it was confirmed, my gluten consumption was outrageous and I didn’t understand why I couldn’t treat certain problems with my skin (hormonal acne), digestion, joints, and so on. So, once I figured out that Celiac Disease was the cause, I cut out all the gluten and began to research different things that could help me repair the damage that I had done over the years.I ran across some information that recommended L-lysine for treatment of my hormonal acne and absorption of important mineral elements like calcium. I have no complaints so far. When I first opened the jar, I was a little shocked by the size of the tablet, but I guess it’s necessary since it contains 1000 mg of lysine. The price is nice and I’m seeing improvements in my skin. I will purchase another jar once all 250 tablets run out. I highly recommend this brand!!!
