    Amazing for Relaxing Muscles & Nerves for Sleep

    I had been looking for a “clean” unsweetened, GF protein powder (around 30g protein), with low calories, and minimal sodium. I finally found it! I love it but not the taste, obviously. That’s fine, because I add non-sweetening things like cocoa powder, cinnamon, Glycine (which is naturally sweet), vanilla extract, etc. Sometimes, for a post workout, I might add 1/2 cup frozen blueberries. Two main ALERTS: 1). You cannot add egg white protein powder to a HOT drink (like tea or coffee)!!!!!!! It will instantly become one “huge gooey glob” regardless of how gradually you add the protein powder!!! (Trust me, it was a Lesson learned the hard way). 2). Ice is the key to help mask the nasty flavor of this powder. It’s really bad tasting if it doesn’t contain ICE.The first time, I made a smoothie with this (happy to have 30g of instant healthy protein), my smoothie consisted of: 3/4 C. Elmhurst unflavored Almond Milk (aka Milked Almonds), 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. “Bulk Supplements” brand Glycine (it has a natural sweetness, and contains only one ingredient—I’ll explain later), 1 scoop (30g protein) Anea Unflavored Egg White Protein Isolate, 1 cup of ice, 1/2 tsp vanilla, and 1 heaping tsp. Unsweetened pure cocoa powder. The second time, I replaced the cocoa with 1/2 C. Frozen blueberries. You can add a banana…. (I had already had my 1/2 banana with 1 T. of fresh-ground almond butter earlier that day 30 minutes before my 5-mile run).Being 65, and still weighing 110 lbs. since I was a teen, I still focus on a very healthy lifestyle, therefore tweak my supplements, and food intake according to my needs and how I feel. Of course, my three doctors always receive (twice each year) a copy of all of my supplements.Glycine is an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain and spinal cord. It reduces muscle tension. It Helps prevent nighttime muscle spasms. It Promotes deeper, more restorative sleep. It Lowers stress signaling (cortisol). This is why it pairs so well with magnesium glycinate. I take the Glycine (1 tsp) in the morning and with my Magnesium Glycinate at night. Two amazing supplements!!!

    It’s not often you get a processed food product with with one ingredient and low sodium. I switched to Anea “unflavored” protein powder from other brands and so far I really like it. They sell flavored versions but sodium level goes from 125mg to over 400mg (not sure why), so I prefer to add berries and other fruits to add the flavor and keep sodium level low.The negative (but still gets a 5 star from me):Consistency – There is a bubbly consistency when blended. Adding milk or kefir seems to help.Aroma – If your nose is sensitive to egg smells, as expected, there is a slight egg smell if you don’t add other aromatic ingredients.

    Save your money. I had hoped to use this product insmoothies but it gave me excess fowl smelling gas- this is something I never suffer with. It may be OK for cooking -I do not know. Very expensive waste of money from my point of view. And you can’t return it.

    Definitely worth a try

    I really love the concept of this powder—it’s just a single, pure ingredient with an impressive 30g of protein from egg whites, which is hard to find. It dissolves easily into drinks and whips up a nice foam without any chalky texture or artificial aftertaste.The only downside so far was noticeable stomach bloating during the first week. Because the clean profile is so good, I’m sticking with it for another few weeks to see if my digestion levels out once my body adjusts. If your stomach tolerates egg white protein well, it’s a great, straightforward option.

    Too Difficult To Blend, Makes Me Bloat

    I bought this egg white protein to replace my beloved whey protein powder that I can no longer drink according to the nephrologist. Although this powder is very pure and has simple ingredients, it is very difficult to make into a smoothie for two reasons. One, it does not dissolve into water like whey does, but clumps up. Two, it foams up and becomes a whipped up mess when I blend it with berries or even by itself. Drinking this makes me bloat, swallowing a lot of air bubbles. So, I probably will not buy this product again, but instead, will get my protein from lean turkey or chicken cooked without salt, or canned low sodium fish. I really wanted to like this protein, but plain egg whites out of a carton will be what I have for breakfast now.
