    SCAM

SCAM. When i was purchasing the item, in the specs it said, 5 items, even on the picture said, 5 packages. 9.5 oz per package, 5 items 13.99, 1.47 per oz. I received 1 package of 9.5, for 13.99. I went to check the specs they changed it to 1 item. Its a scam. I cannot return it, because amazon has return policy that i cant return this item. GOT SCAMED. DO NOT BUY . P.S this wasnt showing the back picture, it has 5g of carb and 1 g of sugar, even though it says its made of eggs, im sure they have added something, its made in china. The reason i bought the egg white powder to avoid carb, this not only scammed me, but horrible product for carnivores.

disgusting and foul smelling swamp sludge

reconstitutes into a foul smelling rancid brown/grey liquid sludge that WILL NOT whip into a meringue. even if it did whip, the smell is so disgusting that i wouldn’t even serve it to a dog.

Convenient and no throwing out spoiled eggs

I love the versatility of having these types of items in powdered, shelf stable form. I am a single person who eats very little dairy. I just can’t eat them fast enough before spoilage so eggs and milk are a rarity in my home. But now that I have discovered powered products (I only thought that was a milk thing) like this, it has made things so much easier and opened up many recipes to me that otherwise I just wouldn’t make because it’s too inconvenient for me to keep those heavy spoilage type products on hand. So for me, I can’t tell you about texture because I am using this exclusively in recipes where it is blended in, but what I can tell you is that it binds like any other egg product and works great as a substitute for the fresh version. I feel this product gives me more value for my money because I can use it at a slower pace and I’m not throwing out half a carton of eggs every week, which still having the benefit of “eggs on hand”. The color of the powder is white so I have to assume the egg whites would look white as well, lol, but again, I only use this blended into recipes. I also have the whole egg powder and love that as well.

Not a Good Fit for Cocktails

I picked this up primarily to use as an egg white substitute for cocktails. The idea of having a shelf stable option instead of keeping fresh egg whites on hand sounded appealing. Unfortunately it did not work particularly well for my needs. Reconstituting the powder back into a liquid took more effort than I expected and I had trouble getting it to fully dissolve without clumping. That made it less practical for cocktail use where consistency matters. The powder also has a stronger aroma than I was expecting. Egg whites normally have very little flavor in a finished drink but this powder added a noticeable taste that carried through into the cocktails I tested. That alone made it difficult for me to use as a direct replacement. The flavor was not terrible but it changed the profile of the drinks enough that I preferred using fresh egg whites instead.I can see this being more useful in baking applications where it is mixed into larger recipes and other ingredients can help mask some of those characteristics. It is also labeled as 100% pasteurized egg white powder which was reassuring after I reviewed the packaging more closely. My hesitation comes more from the limited information about sourcing and quality control than from the ingredient itself. For my particular use case it just did not deliver the results I was hoping for. The mixing process was slower than expected and the flavor impact was more noticeable than I wanted. If your primary goal is baking you may have better luck than I did but as a cocktail ingredient I will be sticking with fresh egg whites.

    really fine powder

I got this to add a little protein and body to simple things like waffles from the mix. My wife likes to experiment with various different mixes. Sometimes they are bland, or don’t fill out well. This egg white powder is perfect for supplementing them both for nutrition and for texture. The bag comes hermetically sealed and a sealing strip must be removed before accessing the zip closure. Under the strip the bag is transparent and I could see that it was filled above the top. That made me afraid to open it, but fortunately as soon as a little air could go in, the interior volume of the bag was larger and the powder settled down away from the zip. It’s a super fine powder, so it looks clumped, but it is just static, it breaks up easily. like extra finely ground espresso. About the consistency of flour. There was no unpleasant odor. Overall it was very low scent and smelled maybe a little bit like protein powder, but minus the flavorings. The instructions don’t say anything about refrigerating, and a search indicated it should be stable in the pantry, so there it goes until time for waffle mix.

    Gross

When I looked at the nutrition facts on the back of the package, something didn’t look right, eggs don’t have sugar or fiber. So I went to the internet and decided to have a chat with good old AI who said “Yes, you have officially caught a massive printing error on the packaging for WildSap Emeralds Egg White Powder!WildSap Emeralds is an e-commerce brand that primarily sells freeze-dried fruit products (like dragon fruit and strawberries). This is the exact root cause of your confusing nutrition label: they accidentally printed a fruit nutrition label onto their egg white powder bags.Proof of the Mix-Up: Look closely at the numbers they gave you:5g Carbs, 2g Fiber, 1g Sugar: This is the exact, classic nutritional profile of a serving of freeze-dried fruit or a diluted fruit powder blend.Animal proteins physically cannot contain fiber—only plants do.Because WildSap Emeralds packages large quantities of dried fruits, their design team clearly used a template meant for one of their fruit products and completely forgot to change the text matrix to reflect egg nutrition before printing the bag. What you should actually logSince the ingredient list explicitly reads 100% pasteurized egg white powder, you can confidently ignore the nutrition box completely. Treat the powder as pure egg white. For your 16-gram serving, cross out their numbers and use these accurate macros instead: Calories: ~60 kcalProtein: 13g to 14g (not 9g)Total Carbs: <1g (not 5g)Sugar: 0g (trace natural glucose removed during processing)Dietary Fiber: 0g (not 2g)Fat: 0g. You bought a great, clean product with no hidden fillers, but you unfortunately got hit with a classic e-commerce labeling blunder!" Now I know AI can and does make mistakes so this is my take on the product.I added some to a strawberry milkshake which made it taste a little funny. I assumed it was because I was adding egg to it so I thought nothing of it. I then tried to make meringues. I added 2tbs of powder and 6tbs of water and turned my mixer on high. After 10 minutes it barely foamed so I added another tbs of powder and mixed for another 6 minutes and it foamed only slightly more. It also was kind of beige and had a funny smell. I decided I did not want to try anymore because if I was even able to make cookies with this I wasn't sure I would even want to eat them if they tasted anything like they smelled. It did not poison me as I had tried it in a shake twice before attempting the meringues and it didn't upset my stomach but I don't think I even want to consume this again and will try another brand. This may be pure egg whites but maybe they are from a different bird than I am used to or maybe they are bad. I don't know but this package is going right in the trash.

  7. My Reviews

WildSap Emeralds (possibly?) Egg White Powder (271g/9.56 Oz) – Resealable Pouch > confusing label!

WildSap Emeralds Egg White Powder (271g/9.56 Oz) – Resealable Pouch for Baking, Meringue, Royal Icing, Macarons, Cooking & Dessertswas hoping to be able to have this in the pantry (*or stored in the freezer once opened) mostly for baking, and when cooking things that could use a binder. and, y’know, to experiment with.the powder, whatever it is, does have a lovely fluffy texture. of course first i tried mixing it (with a whisk, in a glass measuring cup) with water just to see if i could get it to reconstitute. that didn’t work well – i know it wasn’t intended for that, so i wasn’t worried.but the fragrance? it didn’t smell right.since it is made in China… not to be insulting or ignorant or whatever but are we sure they’re chicken eggs?i mean they could be some other sort of poultry (quail, turkey, duck, goose….) that i’m not familiar with, and that has a different sort of flavor. might be a me problem, and nothing to do with the product.i don’t understand the nutrition label on this package, though. when comparing it against a refrigerated liquid egg white product this one is very different.so between the confusing label, the fact that i couldn’t get it to mix at all, and the unpleasant fragrance? no, sorry.

  8. What I Think

Versatile and easy to deal with

I ordered the Egg White Powder (271g/9.56 Oz).This is the first time I have tried plain egg white powder, but I have had whole egg powder. This comes in a resealable pouch, and the seal works fine on mine. The only ingredient is 100% pasteurized egg white powder which I’m happy about not having a bunch of additives since The other powder I tried was overloaded with sugar. This has endless uses, and I mainly wanted this to add some protein to whatever I could think of. I normally drink protein drinks, and I could mix a little extra in there. When I first got it I ended up making some breaded chicken, and I threw a bunch of this into the flour which turned out well. I don’t notice any kind of strong taste, and it just blends in with whatever I am making since it’s compatible with endless different foods that I’m making. Since I’ve never had this before, I can’t say how great the quality is, but it seems good enough for me.I like that it is dried so I don’t have to worry about having eggs in the fridge, and this is a portable option where some may even want to bring it camping.I think value is subjective depending on where people live and what they are willing to pay, but it seems like a decent enough deal for me.Overall, I don’t have anything negative to say, I just appreciate a shelf stable egg powder, thank you.
