Packs a tropical punch!
These are full of flavor – if you like sour candy, i think you will enjoy this! The colder the better, and i have been diluting these with about half water, half protein drink, and still get a ton of flavor.To me, the cans look like they should be strawberry flavored, but the tropical punch is good, too. I do like that i can have several drinks from each can, and then put them back in the fridge, and the bottoms of the cans are nice and flat, so they sit well – even on wire fridge racks.I shook one up, and it didn’t end well, so i don’t shake these up! These are very refreshing after a long day of yard work!!

I’m a novice in the protein drink arena, but I’m open to learning what’s best for me. My doctor suggested that I might want to explore a dietary change to a high protein, low carb diet shift, and I’ve been attempting to adjust my body’s “fuel” supply. I’ve been using a milky style of protein drink in the mornings, but that’s not the texture I want in the afternoon or evening, so I went looking for a more palatable protein drink. I first tried a different brand of clear protein drink that tasted good, but upon further inspection of the label, contained aspartame. My second attempt contained sucralose, also not what I was looking for.I researched protein drinks with natural stevia and found Wild Society mentioned, so I placed an order for their Fruit Punch Hydration Protein Drink. Twenty grams of protein for a mere 100 calories was a good ratio for me, and I really appreciate that this drink has a clear formula. The last protein drink I tried came in mango (bright orange) and fruit punch flavor (bright red), and I worried that these intense colors, though naturally sourced, would stain my teeth with repeated use. The clear formula of Wild Society works for me. The flavor I ordered, Fruit Punch, doesn’t really come across as a true fruit punch flavor, but tastes a lot like the homemade lime margaritas I made from scratch: attention-getting, sharp flavored, and with a slight tangy aftertaste. The first couple sips hit me as too sharp, but I quickly got used to the tang. I’m looking forward to trying the other flavors this company offers.When I first began this high protein journey, it didn’t seem like it would be all that hard to make my protein goals, but as time has gone on, I’ve gotten bored and have looked for more options beyond meat, cheese, yogurt, protein powders, and similar protein rich foods. Being able to add clear protein drinks has been beneficial to my goal. I’ve been at the protein push roughly three months now and my mom commented that my stomach looked flatter. I take that as a win! At $5 per bottle, the Wild Society protein + hydration drink is a little pricier than the predecessors I’ve tried, but the extra cost is worth it to me for the more natural sweetener.

High Protein Electrolytes
I have to admit that it’s kind of a smart idea to have some protein and electrolytes in one drink especially if the drink is still mostly clear.There is only one flavor option for this drink which claims to be fruit punch. It’s a bit difficult for me to say that it is fruity at all, maybe because it is sweetened with stevia and stevia tends to give a bit of an aftertaste to almost any drink.The bottle is aluminum which is good for recycling but it gets easily dented so we weren’t super fans of it. I like the fact that each drink has 20 gr of protein, that’s pretty good for me in a drink that’s not a shake. The whey is what gives it a bit of a cloudy color but it is mostly clear.So, does it work for protein and electrolytes? Yes, it does! Is the flavor good? Not sure I’m a fan – and I tend to like tart flavors and stevia in general. Is it worth the high price tag for a pack of 12? Not for our household, but this can vary depending on your budget.For the most part, clean ingredients including magnesium – a plus for me, but not worth the overall experience for our household.

Good premixed protein shakes
Pretty good for what it is. Tastes quite good considering it’s a premixed whey beverage. It kind of tastes like purple or blue Gatorade. A mild taste without much milky/whey taste at all. Tastes better chilled, but not bad at room temperature. As for price, it’s not bad for something premixed; about $5 per beverage. Obviously, protein powder you mix yourself is cheaper, but you pay for convenience of course. The cans are nice, too, and have handy resealable lids. Pretty good if you’re in the market for some premixed protein shakes you can keep in a gym bag or the break room fridge at work or whatever.

Package compromised, your experience may differ
Note: the package arrived compromised: the 12 pack of Wild Society Nutrition Hydration + Protein drink is a HEAVY item. The packaging that this arrived in was a single cardboard box, with minimal filler, which was clearly insufficient for the weight and volume of the products. Further, it arrived at my doorstep upside down: with the screw tops at the bottom of the box rather than the top. Clearly a “This side up” statement should have been printed or stuck to the box, but there was no such alert. Basically all of the bottles were leaking at least a little bit.As the product was damaged in shipment, I can’t really say whether my experience would be typical. Nevertheless, I submit this review for what it may be worth.The (damaged) bottles were of varying weight, the lightest around 1lb (16oz) the heaviest about 18oz, which means that 2oz or so leaked from each of 7 bottles. 5 seemed to be full. The liquid that had leaked out was rather foul smelling, leading me to believe that whatever had leaked, and perhaps even the remaining liquid (the whey isolate, in particular) in the damaged bottles had spoiled.I opened one of the apparently (although no absolutely positively) undamaged bottles to taste the drink: it was not unpleasant: a fruit punch with a bit if citrus tartness, overall pleasant tasting, and would be especially so had it been cold.I like the idea of the drink, protein and hydration, with sodium, magnesium and potassium electrolytes. But, given the condition of the product I received, I felt it was prudent to discard it. Thus, the 3 stars I left are more for the potential rather than experience under the intended conditions.

Clear Protein- An Acquired Taste
I’ve tried so many brands of clear protein and if I’m being honest most are not very good. They’re also expensive as you probably have realized by now. The first I ever bought was a strawberry coconut powder by Wild society and it was the best so far, but the foaming when mixing is a pain. This already mixed protein drink is definitely much easier than mixing up the powder. Even after shaking it there wasn’t much foam.I do like the addition of electrolytes. It give it a tangy, sweet, and a hint of salty. Like I stated in the headline, this is an acquired taste. Maybe I’m not selling it well enough but that is not my intention because again it’s expensive! You should fully understand what this is before committing $60 for a case of it.The taste is hard to describe and tbh it doesn’t really give me fruit punch vibes, definitely tropical. All clear protein has a taste, an aftertaste that’s hard to describe but it’s not great. It’s also not horrible, but just something I’ve come to accept with every clear protein I’ve tried. It’s from the whey, so there is a dairy element here which is very subtle.This one is not my favorite flavor but I will drink them because for 100 calories it’s worth drinking. However, I will be drinking them really quickly to get through it. The metal can is a nice touch and the cap screws back on so it’s reusable if you’re into that. Overall, it’s on par with most clear protein. The price is a bit high and it’s not going to be for everyone. People who are serious and dedicated to getting their protein in will probably like the convenience and low calorie count.
