I like that these are chewable and actually taste pretty good, which makes them much easier to remember to take daily. The tablets have a pleasant flavor. The price also seems reasonable for the amount you get.I do wish this formula included vitamin K2 since that is often paired with D3 to help with absorption and calcium support, but overall I still think this is a decent vitamin D supplement. Easy to take, good taste, and convenient for anyone who prefers chewables over capsules.

The capsule itself is ok and I had run out of Vit D3 a while ago so I figured where I live we get low amounts of natural D from the sun I should take this since it was a higher dose.For me, I took it for a couple of weeks as I remember my doctor prescribed a higher dose for a very short time before. The recommended dose is much less than this offers. So for me I will keep it on hand if I’m feeling like I need a little more support.As someone who has been on and off vitamin D I could feel the positive effects.

These Vitamin D3 are small chewable tablets with an interesting taste, making them a little sweet in my opinion with the contained xylitol (which is actually good for your teeth). The quality of the packaging and the outer and inner seals was good and well sealed for safety.I have not had any side-effects when taking these.I find these are a good dose that might be more than other Vitamin D3 supplements I have… but the only thing this is missing is the K2 which you normally find paired with other D3 supplements… But this could be good if you are the type that cherry-picks your supplements VS having them all in one.They are easy to get down as they are simply chewable and pleasant to the taste. Each tablet was well made in it’s consistency and I have not noticed any half broken bits or chunks, so, so far so good in that regards.If you are a night person like me and get very little sunlight working night shifts, or if you are sensitive to sun exposure for whatever reason, then your vitamin D3 levels could be low like mine where you might need a supplement like this to get your healthy Vitamin D levels up. For that reason, I find the price is a good value for the cost and assurance to my health. Definitely a decent option for a Vitamin D only supplement… There are some “other” ingredients of course as carriers and such, but the only vitamin contained is D3, which is nice, and each tablet contains a good amount of 5000 IU each.Overall a great option if you are looking for something that focuses on D3 alone.

I don’t have the expertise to say what constitutes an over dosage of vitamin D, however given that the recommended daily allowance is 15 mcg (600 iu) for ages 1 – 70 and 20 mcg (800 iu) for those above, I would certainly think, logically, that the extended use of the Bio Schwartz Vitamin D3 supplement, that provides 8.33x the RDA, might be over dosing. Even cut into quarters, the small chewable pills provide well over the recommended daily dose.Unlike most vitamins, over dosing of vitamin D can have health consequences that at the onset are more annoying symptoms than serious issues. However, ignoring the initial, relatively benign symptoms, and continuing to take high doses of vitamin D may have serious health issues. Anyone exceeding the recommended daily dosage of vitamin D3 by the amount provided in the Bio Schwartz pill may want to research for themselves what is the correct dosage and what constitutes to much vitamin D. Included in the Bio Schwartz suggested use is the disclaimer “or as recommended by a healthcare professional.”It often seems that supplement manufactures try to compete with one another on the basis of greater dosage; for the benefit of “ours has more” marketing. And in many cases that may be a legitimate comparison for determining value. However, in the case of the Bio Schwartz vitamin D supplement, it appears that they are formulated for those that have a vitamin D deficiency; based on the RDA, these appear to be high dosage pills.Vitamin D is an essential vitamin. It strengthens bones by promoting calcium absorption; it also provides immune system support. Just bear in mind though, that too much of a good thing isn’t necessarily a good thing.The Bio Scwartz vitamin D pills are chewable, have a pleasant “natural” flavor and are sweetened with Xylitol, a naturally occurring sugar alcohol found in many fruits and vegetables. According to Bio Schwartz, the supplement is manufactured in the United States at a GMP certified facility from “globally” sourced ingredients, a now common euphemism amongst supplement suppliers that I take to mean China. Additionally, Bio Scwartz states (of course) that they are using the latest technologies, source only the finest ingredients, and that they are committed to producing the highest quality supplements. Okay, whatever. What would be an alternative statement, “that we looked everywhere for the cheapest ingredients we could find?” Although I didn’t find it anywhere stated on the bottle, Bio Schwartz does state on the point-of-purchase page that the supplement is third-party tested. As far as their assertions that D3 helps to maintain strong bones and muscles, along with immune system support, that is true, commonly available knowledge.

The high dosage of vitamin D (5000 IU) in this tablet is perfect for me, as that is the dose I take daily to maintain my blood vitamin D levels between 50 and 80 ng/mL (the level recommended by a physician colleague for optimal immunity, energy, mood, and bone health). However, I wish I knew the ingredients before I purchased this product, because it has two artificial sweeteners that cause digestive distress for me (xylitol and steviol glycoside). In particular, I do not tolerate stevia well. The tablets are very small, like a chewable aspirin, and the sweet taste is not natural. While our culture maligns sugar, I wish it were used more in products like these. The price seems reasonable for a 90-day supply.
