Good vitamin A supplement
My vision has been getting a little hazy lately. I used to eat carrots daily to get vitamin A but I have been slacking lately. Been looking to get Vitamin A supplement and decided to try this one.The softgel capsule is rated at 10,000IU which is more than 3 times the daily recommended allowance of 3,000IU. I have only been taking this for a few weeks but notice some improvement in eyesight. I’m not seeing the haze as much. I was taking it once every other day but will now switch to once every 3 days. The capsule is small, easy to swallow. Take it with food since it is fat soluble. Simple and easy way to get Vitamin A supplement.

A credible provider of non water-soluble Vitamin A, but no purity/potency test results available
I take non water-soluble Vitamin A supplements when I have a chronic cough.Since the FDA doesn’t regulate supplements, I try to investigate supplement brands as much as possible before making a choice.PROS:Anabolic Labs has been on the market for decades and is recommended especially within the chiropractic community.Anabolic labs is based in Colorado and manufactures its supplements in its own USA-located facilities. Its products are well-packaged in glass containers rather than plastic.CONS:Anabolic labs does not make available to its customers purity or potency testing data for its supplements. While it is true that providing this info can be complicated (given the complexity of manufacturing processes and the sourcing of ingredients) there is no other truly credible means for customers to know that what they’re buying is pure, the right potency and safe to use.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~To their credit, Anabolic labs is a USA-based, USA-manufactured supplement vendor which has been in business for decades. I would like to see their purity and potency data, but I also am relatively confident that they are one of the more credible supplement vendors and I would not be overly concerned in using their products.I will not comment on the efficacy of Anabolic labs Vitamin A since to do so would require testing and studies that I obviously have not done.

10,000 IU high dose
This Vitamin A supplement from Anabolic Laboratories contains 10,000 IU (3,000 mcg RAE) from fish liver oil and retinyl palmitate. It is a pretty high dose of 3X the recommended daily intake. It contains 100 medium-size (13mm) football-shaped softgels for a 100 day supply if taken daily. It is flavorless and very easy to swallow with water. That being said, they are made in the USA with facilities located in Colorado Springs, CO and Irvine, CA with no GMO or artificial colors and flavors using natural ingredients at an FDA-approved facility. I ordered in February 2025 and the bottle I received has a stamped best used by date of “28 Apr 2027” which is over 2 years after receiving it. It came in a dark amber pharmaceutical type glass bottle with a tamper evident seal under a normal easy to open screw type cap (no safety) as well as an additional plastic wrap seal on the entire bottle. The color of the bottle should protect it from being exposed to light. It really feels like this company is committed to quality products and safety and a much higher standard than other supplement companies. They also tout on their website that they have been around since 1924 and describe themselves as a pharmaceutical manufacturer of clinically dispensed nutritional products for the licensed health care professional. I think in terms of quality, you won’t find a better one for peace of mind.

Easy to overdose
I don’t understand why the manufacturer made such a strong dose. This form of vitamin A stays in the liver (the body stores this type of vitamin in the liver). According to my humble knowledge, an overdose of this type of vitamin A can be very dangerous. As far as I know, an overdose of beta-carotene (another form of Vitamin A) is very rare, however, here Vitamin A is in the form of retinol palmitate. Retinyl palmitate is used as a source of vitamin A added to low fat milk, so if you drink milk that has retinol added and at the same time you take this supplement, you can easily overdose because this type of vitamin stays in the body. There has been a lot of debate at the high state level about some claims regarding the safety of retinol and whether it causes cancer or not. My advice to you is to look for more data and then decide for yourself whether or not to use this product. Personally, I would always opt for beta-carotene. Beta-carotene belongs to a group of carotenoids. It’s converted to vitamin A in the body and found in many fruits and vegetables (carrot, red pepper and similar).

Good Vitamin A supplement
I was looking for a Vitamin A supplement manufactured by a trusted brand, with verified formula, non GMO and with a single dose per day. I am happy I found this product as it features all of the above in a convenient soft gel that is easy to take and contains 10,000 IU of vitamin A from natural cod liver oil and that will last for 3 months. The bottle was sealed, it shows lot expiration expiration date and is made in the USA.

Easy to swallow.
Easy to swallow. No smell and doesn’t hurt the stomach when taken without food. From my experience.

RETINYL PALMITATE!!!!!
This is NOT fully Vitamin A from Cod Liver Oil as the picture shows! It’s mixed with Retinyl Palmitate, a very cheap and toxic form of Vitamin A, in an unlisted quantity. Not cool. Vitamin A from CLO is pure, bioavailable retinol that our bodies can immediately use to correct deficiencies. Retinyl palmitate requires our bodies to do more steps to convert to a form of retinol that we can use and it’s can harm our liver. Really sad to see such a good company switch to low quality ingredients to save on margins. NOT COOL!!!
