Comprehensive Collagen Formula and Great Value

I like that this supplement combines 2,000 mg of type I marine collagen with hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, biotin, and vitamins B6 and B12. It’s much more convenient than buying each ingredient separately.The capsules are easy to take and haven’t left me with a strong fishy taste or unpleasant aftertaste. I also appreciate that the formula is non-GMO, gluten-free, and made in the USA.With 180 capsules in the bottle, it provides a generous supply for the price. Overall, I’m pleased with the ingredient blend, quality, and convenience and would order it again.

Good source of vitamins

I was excited to see Marine Collagen pop up on my Amazon Vine feed. Marine Collagen comes from the skin, bones, and scales of fish such as cod, tilapia, and snapper as well as other marine organisms like jellyfish and sea urchins. However, this supplement does not mention where this is sourced from other than it states that it contains fish as the source, but no further indication of what type of fish is sourced. Type 1 collagen is the most abundant collagen in the human body and is essential for skin, bones, tendons, and connective tissue. Not sure there is enough collagen or protein in this supplement for 4 tablets, but this supplement is heavy in Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and Biotin, so not a bad supplement for those vitamins alone. This supplement also contains Hyaluronic Acid, which is great for skin hydration, as a lubricant for joints, wound healing, and treating dry eyes. The pill size is rather large for a capsule but is fairly easy to swallow with no taste and a slight odor. At under $18 for 180 capsules and 4 capsules needed for a serving that amounts to 40 cents a day or $12 a month which is a good value for the money for not just the collagen, but the other vitamins and the hyaluronic acid. I have just gone through the bottle in about six weeks, with no issues, so not sure how effective it was as I do feel that it is low in collagen for a collagen supplement, so even though I would recommend and have no reason to not give it 5 stars, I am not sure that I would purchase it again for myself.

Formulation would be more impressive to me with a different form of B12.

I requested and received this 180-count bottle of Marine Collagen Complex made and sold by Vitamatic. My interest in this product stems from the fact that, as the product label states, it contains Type I collagen that supports minimization of lines/wrinkles, supports improvement in skin’s elasticity as well as hydration. It is apparently beneficial for nail strength as well as supportive of stronger, thicker hair. I mean, who doesn’t want that? I know I do.The product label states that the serving size is four capsules, so that equates to a 45-day supply. According to the label, those four capsules contain 2,000mg of Type I marine collagen peptides, as well as 40mg of vitamin C as ascorbic acid, 4mg of B6, 500mg of B12 in the form of cyanocobalamin (I’m not a big fan of this form of B12 and feel this product would have been more impressive, in my view, if it contained one of the bioactive forms of B12 instead of cyanocobalamin which does require the body to convert into a usable form, which can be problematic for individuals with gene defects such as MTR, MTRR, COMT, etc.), as well as 40mg of hyaluronic acid.I went to the manufacturer’s website to see if I could determine where the fish are sourced and was unable to find any mention of that on their product page, nor could I find mention of that on their Amazon product page.I’ve included a few pictures, one of which depicts two capsules next to a dime for others to be able to visualize the size of the capsules. I found them to be easy to swallow, had zero smell/aftertaste, and caused zero gastric issues.Also, I noted the product page’s Safety Information states one should limit use to two months with a break of one week.I do like that the label states the ingredients are free of sugar, wheat, yeast, egg, artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. And I’m pointing that out for anyone reading this who wishes to keep track of potential allergens in their supplements/food. Another positive is that it’s non-GMO, gluten free, and made in the US.With all the above in mind, this product seems to be a decent choice as an addition to our supplement regimen and is one that I may continue to reach for to support skin, nail strength, and hair growth. I just would be more inclined to be a regular purchaser of this formulation if it contained a bioactive form of B12 instead of cyanocobalamin.As for value for the money, I must preface by stating that I did some research on the manufacturer’s website and saw that this product is, one, new and, two, is priced at 40% off (17.99) the original price of 34.99. The Amazon product page shows the price at 17.99, which seems like a phenomenal value as of today, 7-28-26. I believe I’d give this five stars but for the choice of B12 form that is contained therein.

Convenient collagen

I’m a fan of collagen, in just about any form I can squeeze it into my diet. I generally buy a 5-type powder and stir it into my coffee. However, I have been reading good things about marine collagen specifically, that made me open to adding it as a more specialized supplement.These capsules make it so convenient, because unlike powders, you can just swallow these when you have a moment. They’re smaller type capsules, so go down easily. The bit of protein they provide are welcome, too, as I am trying to get more in.I am currently trying out red light therapy and a Korean moisturizer besides collagens, so I am not sure I can reliably say what effort is making my skin glow. I can only say these are an easy, no-fuss way for me to add marine collagen to my routine.
