Excellent formulation of omega 3
As with all supplements, you have to decide whether the ingredients are right for you. I take fish oil in some form regularly, so when I saw this formulation with other ingredients such as astaxanthin and phospholipids, I decided to give this product a try. The combination of ingredients seemed really good.The bottle comes fully sealed, inside and out with tamper-evident seals. Excellent quality packaging to give you a peace of mind that your product hasn’t been tampered with. The pills (softgels) are regular size and are easy to swallow with just water. There is no scent, taste or aftertaste, and I did not notice any side effects. You only have to take two, so it’s an easy addition to your regular supplement routine.As for actual effectiveness, I did not know what to expect. With omega 3-type supplements especially, the effects only appear when you don’t have enough of essential fatty acids. So taking it as a precautionary measure is what I am trying to do. Other effects, such as brain and heart health benefits, are also hard to evaluate.Overall, a good product, and good value for money. At under $14 per month, seems reasonable relative to other similar products.

First things first.This passes the smell test. Literally.With products of this nature, validity can be at least partially ascertained by using your senses! One smell from this package ensures me this product is from seafaring creatures. There’s no denying it.The pills are a brilliant reddish hue. Smell strongly of the ocean. No off-putting taste however. No gut issues whatsoever. Easy to swallow and not overly complicated so it’s simple to add into a regimen.Ingredients include astaxanthin which is a nice addition. Hard to judge effectiveness without an expensive blood test. I’ll check my next HDL blood panel for improvement.This comes from small animals that larger ones generally eat so biomagnification isn’t an issue. Even so, I’d like to see a test result before I commit to making this a more permanent addition.Altogether seems legitimate, though.

No burping effect quality Omega-3!
The Vitacook brand is new to me! I purchased the krill oil 1000 mg per serving for the EPA, DHA and added! I was disappointed to learn that the beneficial omega-3 fatty acids are only 200 mg per serving broken down into 120 mg of EPA and 50 mg of DHA. I do like the added benefits of astaxanthin for skin health. I did notice improvements using this supplement. The product is non-GMO, GMP and third party tested. I did not experience any burping or aftertaste which I appreciate. I was disappointed that there is no mention to where the product is made on the label or where the ingredients are source from. The description on amazon.com clearly shows that the product is probably Made in USA, but I am not sure about that one! This is the reason I only rated the product three stars! Most US-based manufacturers are proud to label their products as being Manufactured in the USA whenever they are! Considering the low-quality print of the label as well as seal around the cap I am suspect that this is a China or India made product! The krill oil is a decent value for the price you get a 30-day supply! The soft gels are small and very easy to swallow!

Krill oil and Astaxanthin in one softgel
My husband and I take a Krill oil supplement every day for our cardiovascular health maintenance. We also take an Astaxanthin supplement every day. I was excited to see this Vitacook Krill Oil, which contains 1,000 mg of Krill oil per serving, but also contains 200 mcg of Astaxanthin. This means that we can eliminate one of our pills! This dark plastic bottle contains 60 softgels. The recommended dosage is 2 per day, so this bottle will last one person a month. It will last 2 people only 2 weeks, but we would not be buying or taking a separate Astaxanthin softgel. The bottle comes with a cellophane seal around the lid, and the lid is the type that you have to push while turning. Under the lid is another seal. I personally had trouble removing both seals. They were VERY secure, and that’s a good thing. The bottle is only half full, and this seems like a waste of space. I would prefer a smaller bottle. Each softgel is a little over 1/2″ long and is on the fat side, but this is the case with most Krill supplements. They are as easy to swallow as any other Krill that I have taken. According to the label, the product is gluten-free and non-GMO, both of which are important to me. The label does not say where the product is made, only that it is manufactured for Vitacook, which is based in Minnesota. Vitacook is a fairly well-known reputable company and I have no qualms about taking this product. I am confident that it will contribute to maintaining my health.
