This liquid magnesium glycinate supplement has a strong, candy-like strawberry flavor (the ingredient list says “natural strawberry flavor,” which is entirely possible), and it’s also very sweet-tasting despite having no added sugar, thanks to the naturally sweet taste of glycerin and stevia extract.It’s not clear how the liquid gets its bright pink color, as there is no coloring ingredient (natural, artificial, or otherwise) in the ingredient list. Perhaps the natural strawberry flavor ingredient that the company selected was one that contains a dark pink colorant, but in this case, the individual ingredients (not just “flavor,” but specifically what ingredient provides the color) should be in the list. Our family doesn’t have any food reactions, but for those who may react to common color ingredients, such as beet, red cabbage, or cochineal, will need to know the source of the color or else steer clear of a product that doesn’t specify.I like the flavor well enough to take this product directly from the dropper, but my kid says it’s too sweet like that, so we’ll have to try mixing it into a smoothie or something, to see if it’s more kid-friendly that way.I like that there’s no sugar added and no artificial ingredients. The liquid form is a bit pricey, but easier to take and more readily absorbed than tablets or capsules. It can be stored in a cool dry place with no need for refrigeration, just be sure to keep the dropper from touching anything (such as the inside of anyone’s mouth), so the solution will stay clean and uncontaminated. It takes up only 1.5” square in the cabinet when stored in its box, which is just under 5” tall. That one little bottle will last for two months at 1 dose per day for the 4-8-year-old age group, or 30 days for ages 8 and up. If your child is fonder of sweets than mine, then this may work great for them. The sleep and relaxation benefits of magnesium supplementation can make it worth the price if your child likes it.
