Adhere well, with no negative effects

I have used medication in a patch application, but these are the first supplement patches I’ve tried. It’s been a good experience so far. The patches adhere well, and I’ve had no negative reaction to them on my skin. The instructions tell you to leave the patch on for 8 to 10 hours, so I apply in the morning and take them off when I’m washing up in the evening, perhaps leaving them on a little longer than recommended. I have only used them for about a week, so it’s too soon to tell if I am benefiting from them and how about this delivery method works, but no negatives so farThe patches are about 1 inch square, are the color of a Band-Aid, and are madecof very thin plastic type material. As I said previously, they adhere well, and do not leave residue behind when you take them off. They come in sets of six to a sheet and each sheet comes individually sealed, labeled with the manufacture date, and the expiration date. Mine have an expiration date of December 2026.

Wellness Omega-3 Plus Daily Patch – Self Adhesive Time Release

I’ve been using the Omega-3 Plus Daily Patch for a few weeks now, and it’s a convenient way to get my daily dose of omega-3s. This self-adhesive, time-release patch is designed to deliver nutrients over 8-10 hours, which makes it easy to incorporate into my daily routine without having to remember multiple doses throughout the day.The patch is comfortable to wear and sticks well to the skin without causing any irritation. I usually apply it to my upper arm or shoulder, and it stays in place even during my workouts. The fact that it offers a 42-day supply is a big plus, as I don’t have to worry about running out too quickly. While I haven’t noticed any significant changes yet, it’s reassuring to know that I’m consistently getting my omega-3s. The time-release feature is particularly appealing because it ensures a steady absorption throughout the day, which is something that traditional supplements can’t offer. The only downside is that results may vary from person to person, and it might take a bit longer to notice any benefits. However, the convenience and ease of use make this a worthwhile addition to my daily wellness routine. Overall, I would recommend the Omega-3 Plus Daily Patch for anyone looking for a hassle-free way to supplement their omega-3 intake.

Read up on this before you buy

I was very interested in if these patches were worth money. I didn’t realize when I bought them that they were only 8mg vs the 1000mg dose that I usually take orally. Here is what I found. The Issue with Transdermal Omega-3 Patches:Molecular Size and Skin Penetration:For transdermal patches to be effective, the molecules of the active ingredient need to be small enough to penetrate the skin’s outer layer (stratum corneum) and reach the bloodstream. While some vitamins and minerals (like certain B vitamins or magnesium) have smaller molecular weights and can be effectively delivered transdermally, omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) are relatively large molecules. This makes it inherently difficult for them to pass through the skin in significant amounts. Some research suggests that nutrients with a molecular weight of 400 Daltons or less can be absorbed effectively by human skin. Omega-3s generally exceed this. While there’s research into nanotechnology (like nanoemulsions) to try and improve topical delivery of omega-3s for skin conditions, this is different from systemic absorption for general health benefits.Lack of Scientific Evidence for Systemic Absorption:There is very little robust scientific evidence to support the claim that omega-3 fatty acids can be effectively absorbed through the skin in a way that provides systemic health benefits comparable to oral supplementation. Most studies on omega-3 benefits focus on oral intake. While topical omega-3 might have some localized benefits for skin conditions (like inflammation), that’s not the same as getting the amounts needed for heart health, brain function, etc.The FDA also states that “a dietary supplement must be intended for ingestion,” meaning transdermal patches cannot be marketed as dietary supplements. They view this as potential “health fraud” if marketed as such. The Dosage Difference: 8mg vs. 1000mg:This is the most glaring red flag. A typical omega-3 capsule with 1000mg usually contains a significant amount of active EPA and DHA (often around 300-600mg combined, as the 1000mg refers to the total fish oil). The recommended daily intake of combined EPA and DHA for general health often ranges from 250 mg to 500 mg for healthy adults, and higher for specific conditions. An 8mg dose from a patch is extremely tiny in comparison. Even if 100% of that 8mg were absorbed (which is highly unlikely for omega-3s via skin), it would be negligible compared to what’s considered a therapeutic or even maintenance dose. Are the Patches Even Doing Anything? Are They Worth the Buy?Based on the current scientific understanding and the dosage discrepancy:Likely doing very little for systemic benefit: It’s highly improbable that 8mg of omega-3 delivered via a patch would provide any significant systemic health benefits for your heart, brain, or overall inflammation, especially when compared to recommended oral dosages. Not worth the buy for general omega-3 supplementation: For the purpose of getting adequate omega-3s into your system for overall health, the patches are almost certainly not worth the purchase. You are getting a vastly insufficient dose, and the absorption method for omega-3s is questionable. What to do:Stick with the capsules: Your 1000mg omega-3 capsules are a much more reliable way to get omega-3s. Make sure to check the back of the label to see the actual amounts of EPA and DHA per serving, as this is the critical number.

    Doesn’t Stay On

I can’t write an honest review because they won’t stay on your skin longer than about 15 minutes. I have tried cleaning my skin with soap and water and allowed it to dry completely and even tried using alcohol to clean my skin yet no luck. For me, it was a waste of my money

    Easy to use/healthy

“Very good product. I’ve used omega-3 supplements before, and now having it as a daily patch makes it much easier and more convenient to use. I really like it.”
