So Far So Good
I’ve been trying the Ultimate Gut B. Coagulans, which gives it a nice combination of probiotics and prebiotic support in one capsule. The company, Ultimate Health Solutions, appears to have a solid presence as a supplement seller, although I would like to see more readily available independent third-party testing information before calling it a top-tier brand. Still, the ingredients are clearly listed, the formula is straightforward, and at the price point it looks like a reasonable option for someone looking to add a probiotic to their daily routine.

This is an incredibly cost effective way to get probiotics into your diet.
I ordered this Ultimate B. Coagulans 10 Billion CFU Yogurt Starter Culture in order to make my own gut health yogurt. It’s so easy to make. I don’t even have a yogurt maker, but have been making yogurt in my food dehydrator. All you need to do is empty a capsule into a jar. Mix in a splash of half and half, and stir until well combined. Then fill up the rest of the way. Cap it securely, and place into your warning environment of choice. This could be a commercial yogurt maker, food dehydrator, hot pot on the yogurt setting, or an oven with the light on. Keep it between 110°and 115° for 36 hour, and refrigerate when done. The result is a tangy yogurt that can be used however you wish. The smell is quite different from store bought yogurt, it’s actually kind of a cheesy an aroma.Normally, when you make this type of probiotic, you need to add a fiber to feed the yogurt, however this starter comes with it already in the capsule. The larger the batch you make, the more capsules you should use. And once you have successfully made your first batch, you can use a couple of tablespoons of the last batch to make the next one. You can probably get five or six batches out of one initial batch. When multiplying batches, additional fiber will be required. In that case you could use potato starch, bamboo fiber, or another type of fiber to feed your batch. This is an incredibly cost effective way to get probiotics into your diet.

This Ultimate B. Coagulans Probiotic is both a gut health supplement and a yogurt starter. If you prefer to make homemade yogurt without having to buy yougurt to use as a starter, these capsules can do that for you. So far, I haven’t used this that way, but it is great to have on hand as a ever-ready starter culture.The other use is as a supplement to improve gut health. These capsules are easy to swallow and seem to aid somewhat in stomach comfort. They are not very large and go down easily. Each capsules has 10 billion live cultures in it! The taste is very minimal if you swallow the capsule quickly or while taking a drink of some liquid. So far, definitive results in gut health are not certain, but initial experience is good. Considering the cost, these probiotic capsules are a great deal. if you choose to make your own yogurt, these would be a great option! Recommended.

Great Option for Yogurt or Daily Use
I was excited to find another Ultimate probiotic that can be used for homemade yogurt, too. You can either take the capsule like a regular probiotic or open it up and use it as a starter culture. Since I already have the Ultimate yogurt maker, I really like having both options.This one contains 10 billion CFU of Bacillus coagulans and organic chicory inulin. It doesn’t contain L. Reuteri like the other Ultimate probiotic I have, but B. Coagulans is another probiotic that can be used for digestive support.I received all 60 capsules, and since the serving size is one capsule, that’s a 60-day supply. The capsules are also smaller than a lot of supplements, so they’re very easy to swallow. Definitely not those giant horse pills!I like having these around for the times when I’m not making yogurt. I can just take a capsule instead, and then when I’m ready to make another batch, I can use it as a starter. I haven’t used it long enough to say how well it works yet, but I really like the ingredients and the fact that I can use it in two different ways.

I Actually Noticed a Difference, and They’re Easy to Use for Yogurt
Health products are always difficult to review since you may not see their effects, if any, until some time has passed. They’re also very specific to the makeup of the individual, especially anything involving the gut microbiome.That being said, I’ve been using Ultimate products for a while now, everything from their probiotics to their yogurt makers, and they’ve consistently felt like quality products. These B. Coagulans capsules had a pretty immediate and moderate effect for me: easier and healthier-looking poops, lol. That’s obviously my unofficial personal experience and not a scientific conclusion, but they do seem to be having a positive impact for me.Each capsule provides 10 billion CFU along with organic chicory inulin as a prebiotic. Ultimate also clearly knows that many people will want to make probiotic yogurt with these, so the capsules are easy to open and pour into milk.With supplements, it’s important to feel like the manufacturer cares about cleanliness, accuracy, and quality. Health Begins in the Gut
More and more information is coming out on the benefits of Prebiotics and Probiotics. It has been shown that consuming these two together in a balanced diet helps them work as a team to keep your microbiome strong and diverse, which is great for digestion, as well as improving how your body takes in essential minerals like calcium and magnesium.These non-GMO, third party tested capsules can be taken individually or can be used as a starter for making yogurt. Having made yogurt in the past, I might use these capsules for this too, that way I could control and know what I am ingesting, rather than having a long ingredient list on the side of a yogurt jar which includes ingredients I can’t even pronounce.This bottle gives me a 60 day supply, if I take the recommended 1 capsule per day. Potentially Beneficial Bacteria
I ordered the B. Coagulans because it was mentioned in a video that I watched from a gut microbiome researcher. Dr. William Davis studies beneficial species related to the gut microbiome. He mentioned that B. Coagulans was one he had studied that had good potential for treating patients with bad bacteria overgrowth in the gut. He also stated that it was difficult to ferment this type of bacteria in milk to make yogurt. We make yogurt from a few other types of bacteria that ferment well in the process of making yogurt. Since this bacteria doesn’t ferment well, it makes more sense to take it as a supplement. I am taking it now and plan to continue taking it to complement the other sources of beneficial bacteria that we consume.
