Easy to swallow and vegan.
This is a nice quality turmeric, easy to swallow and with good ingredients. I was curious that the coloring was lighter than my former brand as shown in the photo. The pill on the right is from Carlyle. I find that taking it before bed helps me wake up with less soreness and inflammation. That always gives me more energy. I believe in the effectiveness of turmeric and so much better than taking a pharmaceutical.

My grandma put turmeric almost in every dish she made. From stews, to marinates, and even tea. She believed it’s good for Alzheimer’s for whatever reasons. I’ve started taking turmeric for a few years now as a supplement. These say they’re organic and certified. Pills are medium sized and easy to swallow with water. You’ve to take 3 a day which is a bit cumbersome. The bottle says it’s good for immune system and joint health, probably they are effective on other things as well.

Very light in color
I have been regularly taking turmeric capsules for years now, I do feel like it helps my pain relief from arthritis and sore joints. Always willing to give a new variety a try. I was very happy to see that this container had both an overwrap and an inner safety seal. Also happy to see that this did include black pepper, some of the supplements do not and that is definitely a necessary ingredient if you want to get the best absorption out of your turmeric. Really the only ingredients I want to see in my turmeric supplement are natural turmeric and natural black pepper. But upon seeing the capsules, I was very surprised at how light in color they were. I’ve tried many different brands and I don’t think I’ve ever had one that was quite this bright light yellow (I included a side-by-side photo with one of my regular brand capsules, which you can see is naturally a deep bright orange color). After researching it a bit, I found that lighter turmeric powder is often just a different variety or a milder grade, but it can also indicate lower quality or the inclusion of fillers or non-natural ingredients. I decided to open up one of the capsules and give it a taste, because I’m very familiar with how a high-quality turmeric should taste and this actually did not give me any reassurance. It had hardly any taste at all, definitely not the pungent turmeric scent or flavor I would have expected. I did try taking this for about a week, but it just did not have the effectiveness my regular regimen did and so I did not continue. Maybe it needs longer, but I was not willing to give up the effectiveness of my regular brand for one that was already not working nearly as well after only a few days.
