Well. I bought this because my cat had/has respiratory issues. Took him to vet, got antibiotics, wheezing gone, sneezing and coughing still here. Until 3 weeks ago, he was a feral cat that I took care of since he was a kitten. He knows me. Only me. Husband allowed him to stay with us. OK, here’s the deal. I’ve never had/knew cat that went after maple syrup. Shrimp, yes. Chicken, yes. Pizza, huge yes! Never had to force those into their mouths. Imagine my surprise when this elderly feral cat didn’t like maple syrup?! Now, imagine me sucking up 1/2 teaspoon of maple goop into a syringe (sans needle, of course!) and trying to squirt it into this FERAL cats mouth and expect no bloodletting. Yeah, day one, syringe one, fight ON!! I almost lost, luckily he’s around 10 years old. Unfortunately, he’s smart 🙄. So now, I fill the syringe in the bathroom, sneak up on him, envelope him into my one arm, sitting him on my lap, holding his head and squeeze the goo into his mouth in stages so he doesn’t choke. I’m getting better, he seems to know it, too. Hopefully, he’ll get feeli g better and will get used to taking this for the rest of his long life. Maybe they can make the cat supplement taste like, oh, I don’t know, maybe CATNIP?! Or how about TREATS?! Just spit balling here.If it works, I’ll up the stars. If it also is made cat friendly, I’ll up the review after giving them the maximum stars allowed.

I have mixed this gel with other cat medicines…and applied it to the upper furry part of our cats paws…they will lick it off…it works well…

Easy enough to give to my cats by putting it on their fur
I’m not sure if this is helping my cats yet. It’s just too soon for me to say as I haven’t had it that long. I can say that none of them like it. It’s pretty easy with a gel like this if the cats don’t like it – just rub it on their fur and they will lick it off. Unless they really never groom, in which case, they may have bigger problems than this can fix.The gel is pretty dense so if I put too much into their fur, then it can fall down and onto whatever. But that’s just human error – I need to put a little less onto their paws, fur, etc.It’s funny when some of them realize they have it on. They think they are being persecuted because they have something moist on them. They seem as annoyed and afraid as they do if they get accidentally wet with water. One of my cats kept running away from his back (which had some of this gel on it), because it was moist. He felt his back was chasing him, lol. He eventually stood still and licked it off.It looks good and it does smell like maple syrup. One of my cats loves sweet tasting things so he doesn’t mind it. But I think they would be smarter to make it smell like tuna, or chicken, or salmon or something. Or maybe have different options for flavors. The taste of maple syrup is something *most* cats are not into. My one cat is a weirdo and wants all kinds of human foods on top of cat food – he begs for salads and likes mango pieces – so he doesn’t really count! The rest I have to trick into having.It came well packaged and I think it’s a good value for how much it costs. I love lysine in general. I put lysine powder into their water daily. I look forward to this helping them. I know it can take a little time to see results.

Helps my kitty with drippy eyes.
I’ve used another brand of veterinary lysine for a lot of years, successfully, but wow the lysine treats are expensive. One of my kitties tends to have leaky eyes, and a few treats a day makes a difference for her. I’m very experienced at giving pills and meds to kitties, and my best luck with no mess and the vast majority of the product making it into the cats stomach is by smearing it directly on the roof of their mouth. It’s easy enough, easier than a pill, and I don’t know that my kitty loves it, but she doesn’t hate it as much as the kaolin (white clay) diarrhea medicine that I administer the same way. I’m not getting the same ferocity of looks after. I tend to agree with the other reviewers who wish this was chicken or tuna flavored… but it works, it’s a good price for two big tubes, and some kitties may love it. I’ve only got one who takes it, so my personal sample size is very small.

Great health benefits
L-lysing is good for cats, and can be very effective. There are many health benefits. It is a gel like consistency and easy to squeeze the right amount according to the size of the cat. It doesn’t smell terrible and I don’t know what it tastes like. But I cannot get my cat to eat it. I have tried hiding it in her food, but she’s too smart for me. My mom’s cat loves the stuff. So it really just depends on the cat. It comes with two tubes, and the tubes are pretty large.

I have a multi cat household they have all been rescued and were born to feral mothers some were abandoned by there mother and near death we bottle fed and nursed them but we have one that’s a special needs fur baby she’s blind in one eye and was very sick she has trouble breathing and one side of her nose is deformed the vet gave us antibiotics but said it could come back so I got this for her and her sibling but unfortunately she won’t have anything to do with it so I decided I had to figure out a way to get her to take it I followed the instructions and sucked it up into a medicine syringe and I squirted a little into her mouth she spit it right back out it was a mess but im determined especially if it’s going to help her but she won’t even lick it off her nose or paw but I have another cat that seems to like it he licks it no problem but of course he’s not the one who needs it so I can’t say if it works she hates the taste and he seems to like it all cats are different so I’m giving it 3 stars I’m going to wait a little while and try again with her fingers crossed if im successful I’ll update my review when I know more about it’s effectiveness

Trulysine for CatsTrulysine for Cats
I needed to purchase this since my cat had an eye infection. I was concerned that the cat wouldn’t like the Maple flavor but I put the right amount on his nose and he ate it without any problems. It’s a great value for the size tube. I’m so glad I skipped getting this at the Doctor’s office and instead got it through Amazon!

Alright, I genuinely believe this helped my cat’s allergies and overall comfort level; so, it’s getting a five-star review. But is there anything we devoted pet owners hate more than trying to force-feed our animals? I won’t do it. No, cats will never understand! So why sell products that haven’t been taste-tested on normal, everyday cats? (Grrrrr! 😉)Oh yes, sure; you could smear it on their paws and let them begrudgingly clean it off. (And then enjoy being watched with deep suspicion for days. 👀😉) Besides, as you can see from the image, this formula is thinner than other preparations; because, of course, cats just love getting ‘wet’ (😉).But let me tell you, I got out the blender! (The BLENDER folks! 😉) Yes. Every. Single. Time. Imagine the cleanup. (And imagine my feelings toward this particular brand with each and every wash cycle.) That was the only way I could get them to take this. That took work. (And frustration!)So, it is purely out of an almost masochistic sense of saintly patience that I give this product five stars. But yes! Subjectively, I do believe my cat is better for taking it, so that alone earns it full marks.Positives:* I believe it genuinely contains bioavailable lysine.* It is edible; the flavor isn’t so off-putting that you can’t disguise it.Mild Concerns (Forgive me; I tend to geek out, but I do have an advanced science degree. Bear with me; these are pragmatic points! 👍)* Sodium benzoate: In acidic conditions, this can form benzene – considered a carcinogen. Yay! 👀* Sucralose: A bit controversial, given potential microbiome disturbances.* Edetate disodium (EDTA): A chelating agent commonly used for lead poisoning.* These aren’t the most pet-friendly additives, but they’re not dealbreakers for me.* That said, I’d love to see a recent third-party test and a clear list of what’s actually tested.Final Word: Since I genuinely believe this helped my cat, I’m happy to give it five stars.
