Basic beef liver supplement: might not need so much
I’m not a big meat eater and for that reason I take beef liver supplements to ensure that I’ll getting enough protein.This formula is made from farm-raised free-range grass-fed beef, which based on what I’ve read is purportedly higher in iron, protein, and other nutrients as compared to grain-fed beef. This is manufactured and tested in the USA, which is a plus, but there is no indication as to the source. (Many similar supplements are sourced in New Zealand, which is very common.)These are capsules that are of average size, are easy to swallow, and have no taste.The only downside is that each serving provides 4,500 mg but calls for a whopping six capsules. Following that, this would last one month.There is no established daily value for this supplement and in the past I’ve taken similar formulas that provided 3000 mg, which for me worked fine. Based on that, I’ll likely take four per serving, which means this will last a month and a half.Either way, this is a good value, but I question whether 4,500 mg is really necessary: Recommended keeping that in mind.

I have taken liver supplements for years now. I find these ones as effective as other ones I have taken. The high B12 really helps with energy levels. They caused zero stomach discomfort…But the capsules do have a bit of flavor. It’s just meaty like, not bad if you quickly swallow them. I will continue to take liver, it’s nature’s multi vitamin!

This is the fourth beef liver supplement I’ve tried across different brands, and I’d place this one somewhere in the middle. Lots of nutrition, single ingredient
So, I wanted to supplement with beef organs, but then I found out I need to avoid some of them. So many supplements are combinations of beef uterus, liver, and other organs. This is problematic for women who are in perimenopause or menopause as you might find you are over supplementing with certain vitamins and micronutrients. Add to that, most formulas do not list out the vitamins. This is no different, sadly, and I wish the levels of vitamins like CoQ10 and Vitamin A were listed. I had no trouble taking the capsules — no weird taste or smell and seem quality.On the positive side, these are made in the USA, grass-fed, and FDA compliant. Most importantly, they are lab-tested and verified. I believe they are effective for boosting nutrition. For people of a certain age, you might remember taking liver oil or being served liver for dinner regularly; it was known by previous generations to be a highly nutritious food source. We have lost that in recent generations and I believe this kind of supplement is the way the current generations are trying to recapture that nutrative value, which is not small.There is a month’s worth of dosage in the bottle. It is GMO, soy, nut, fish, and gluten free. But it requires 6 — yes, 6 — capsules. If you have capsule fatigue this might factor into your decision-making. Easier to take with a meal, I think. A good value overall because of the high nutritive value and lowish price.

There are 180 capsules and you take six per day, which will be off-putting to some people, but it gives me confidence that they can actually fit as much supplement as claimed into the capsules.The expiration date on mine (THANK YOU for not printing it on the bottom of the bottle!) is Apr 2027.The capsules have a scent and taste that you would expect… to me it is reminiscent of a 4H building at the county fair. They are fairly easy to swallow with water.I like my supplements to say organic (or grass-fed in this case), non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and made in the USA. This says grass-fed, made in the USA, GMO free, and GMP certified.I look into the supplement companies I use because I’ve come across so many questionable ones. Their phone number is on the bottle and their website. The tnvitamins site is functional and somewhat informative. It says they were founded in 1979 as a family-owned business. I would like to see more details about their sourcing, manufacturing, and results of any testing they might do.I seem to take longer than most to see results when starting a new supplement but I have had good results with beef liver capsules in the past. Great recovery supplement
I feel really great when I take this supplement after work. I like to think of it as a great recovery supplement. It really does restore my energy after a long work day. My mental fatigue dissolves as well. It’s very noticeable within about 15 to 20 minutes. I think it helps with pain.I find it to be very effective for what I just listened to. I feel that it is full of nutrients normally contained in liver and that must be what is helping me. My grandparents were right to eat organ meats.
