A very nice, albeit subtle green tea, very versatile and a nice brewed iced tea as well.

This tea has an excellent aroma and flavor, and the leaves suggest very good quality. For the listed price at order time of just $19.99 for a 12oz bag of loose tea, I also think it’s a pretty good value.As a green tea, I find it is a bit of a subtle taste, not at all overpowering, but I do add some honey to enhance the overall experience and draw out a little bit more of the sencha flavor. I’ve also added a dash of milk and that’s nice as well. I will occasionally still drink this without any additions, as sencha more traditionally demands, as far as I know, and it’s been good that way, too. It does have a very teensy hit of sweetness on its own, so honey isn’t strictly required, but it’s still nice.I have also enjoyed this brewed and and then iced–but ALWAYS unsweetened when iced, as I prefer iced tea unsweetened–and it’s been fantastic as a brewed iced tea. Just terrific.The flavor, again, might be a little TOO subtle for some, but tea is always different, and I’ll take it any way I can get it. I was immediately impressed by it when I first opened the package, and I remain impressed–no matter how I drink it. It’s not a power-punch, full-flavor-bomb tea, so it’s not really one you take time to tiny-sip and savor as much as just, well, drink… you get the idea. Still delightful, tho.In other words, this tea is super-versatile, and I really appreciate that. It’s a regular-rotation tea for me right now, which is no small compliment given how much tea I order/test/consume. It’s… a lot. :)I’m loving it for what it is, and I definitely recommend it.

Organic Sencha Green excellent quality and value

TEAVITY Sencha Green Organic Loose Leaf Tea comes in a 12oz resealable plastic bag. If you don’t have dedicated ceramic or glass containers for storing your loose leaf teas this bag is perfect for keeping your Sencha Green fresh from the first to the last cup.Upon opening the bag I immediately caught the delightful deep grassy aroma with a hint of hay that is characteristic of Sencha. The leaves are tightly rolled and needle like in appearance. No flat leaves. Very few broken and little powder at the bottom of the bag.The color is a deep forest green.Sencha tea is a variety made exclusively in Japan. The processing of the leaves is what gives it its unique taste. Sencha leaves are steamed whole and then folded and rolled. The result of this processing is a tea with a grassy taste and aroma profile, high in anti oxidants, and higher ointment caffeine content than most green teas. Sencha tea should have a slight umami undertone and a mild bitterness. Matcha which is ground tea leaves and in which the finished beverage includes drinking the ground tea leaf powder resulting in a stronger thicker beverage with a sweet undertone due to processing and the type of tea leaves used.To get the best brew and full flavor profile of Sencha tea you will want to steep the leaves for at least 4 minutes using water just off the boil. Yes, hotter than most tea and longer brew time.You can add sweetener and milk, but I suggest trying it as is so you can appreciate the true taste of Sencha which is easily overwhelmed by the sweetness of milk and/or sweeteners.You can cold brew Sencha for 4 hours in the refrigerator. It will have a different and more subtle flavor profile. I recommend hot brew then chill and serve over ice as a better option for aroma, flavor, and extraction of the most beneficial elements.If you want the benefits of a green tea, but with a bit more caffeine than standard green teas you may be familiar with Sencha is a good place to start.Over all quality Sencha is more expensive than standard green teas, and less expensive than decent quality Matcha.I’m a bit of a tea snob, and I find this 12oz package of loose leaves to be a good value for the quantity as well as quality at the current price of $19.99

Decent, Fairly Priced, Nothing extraordinary

This greet tea is decent but didn’t quite stand out to me as anything special. The flavor is clean and easy to drink, but overall it comes across a bit on the lighter side as I was hoping for a little more depth and richness in each cup. It’s still enjoyable, especially if you prefer a milder green tea, but it may feel a bit subtle for those who like bolder flavor.That said, for the size of the bag and the quality, it’s fairly priced and offers good value. A solid everyday option, just not the most robust option. Leaves do seem fresh and good option for natural caffeine.

I started drinking organic sencha green tea a few months ago, for it’s many health benefits.
