A more natural (sort of) way to get calcium
I got this product because I need to take more calcium as I get older, and I liked the idea of taking eggshell calcium, but I don’t have the patience to do it myself. I know Swanson is a very reputable brand, so I got this supplement. One serving (2 capsules) only contains 38% of the RDA of calcium, but you are supposed to take one serving twice a day. This dosage is a little cumbersome and hard for me to remember, so I usually end up only taking it once a day. I do get some calcium from other sources though, so I’m not too worried about the reduced dosage. The capsules are fairly large. I don’t have trouble swallowing them, but some others might. Eggshell is a great natural source of calcium, but these pills are not pure eggshell. They do contain quite a lot of fillers (more than most capsule-type supplements do). So, this isn’t a purely natural way to get your calcium. Still, I think this is a good product from a good brand, and it isn’t a bad price for a month’s worth of capsules (at 4 capsules per day).

Finally bright my d level up
I had been taking a different type of calcium/vitamin d combo after completing a prescription vitamin d. I had low d that didn’t budge back up after starting otc. This eggshell option finally got me there. Di feel better using this option also. It’s the only egg shell variety I have found. I must absorb more of it than my other option so I will be sticking with this. If you also have low d, consult your doctor about trying this option.

I have difficulties taking my rx for the same combo. It’s usually taken 3 times a day, but with meals. Since I don’t generally eat 3 times a day, this is really hard to remember, or stomach. I find that I miss my third serving, nearly every time. This blend includes eggshells, vs oyster, and only requires 2 servings a day. This is far more manageable for me, and means that I actually get my full daily dose, as intended. The only downside is that the serving size is 2 capsules twice a day. This is double what I take at a time for my rx. The capsules are a little larger than my usuals, and they are also covered in a fine white powder. They are messy and leave residue on my other supplements, but mostly they are a little difficult to swallow. For some reason it seems that these have a tendency to turn on their way down. More than once I have been caught off-guard by the pain of these on the move. All I can do is drink more water and wait for the pain to pass, as the pill straightens itself out once more. I have had this experience a few other times, but this one was quickly recurring. I find that I can only take one at a time, whereas I can usually take several pills at once, even of the large variety. While my insurance usually covers it, 7 bucks a month isn’t the worst deal if you need it.

One month supply of hard-to-find eggshell calcium plus D3!
Since osteoporosis runs in my family, I’ve been recommended to take a daily calcium supplement. I like that this product from Swanson is sourced from eggshells and includes vitamin D3 to help with absorption. The capsules are slightly larger than an average capsule, but pretty typical for calcium supplements. I have not had any trouble swallowing them. They have no taste, aftertaste, or smell, and I have not experienced any side effects after taking them for a few weeks. I appreciate the convenience of having these supplements delivered to the store rather than driving around town to figure out which local store carries eggshell calcium, which isn’t easy to find.The label says that 2 capsules provide 500 mg of calcium, so this bottle contains 60 servings. If you take the recommended 2 servings per day, the bottle will last for 30 days. After doing some research, I also take magnesium & vitamin K with calcium & vitamin D3. Overall, I’ve been pleased with these eggshell calcium capsules and recommend them to others!
