    I bought this because I take fueling seriously. I am a former Marine, and when I am training or racing, I do not gamble with my stomach or my energy. I have used Spring Energy for about 50 half marathons, and this one belongs in the same category as the rest of my go to lineup. It tastes like actual food, it goes down easy, and it gives me steady power when the miles start getting honest. No weird chemical aftertaste, no gut drama, and no crash. This is the kind of gel I trust before a long run, during a hard effort, and even after when I need something that does not feel like junk. Easy 5 stars

    High Priced but Easy-Digesting and Tasty Gels

    Spring Energy Honey Banana Peach Energy Gel, 210 Calories (6 Pack)This energy gel is about twice the size of a typical gel pack. It has a resealable nozzle, so I can consume it over a period of time rather than all at once, as is required when eating a typical energy gel. While this is technically an ultra-processed food, the ingredients are simple whole foods rather than highly processed inputs.The flavor and texture are subjectively about halfway between baby food and energy gel. There is some texture from the rice, similar to a very sweet congee pudding. I digest these very well, and they give a long, sustained energy boost to help maintain a steady endurance-level power output over hours.These are very pricey. At the time of ordering, it worked out to $7.50 per package, which is off the charts compared even to the most expensive name-brand energy gels. I would not use these for normal everyday-carry type fueling. However, they do taste quite good and are very easy on my stomach. Having one or two of these in my jersey pocket when doing a century road ride or a long hike is a nice backup in case I start having GI issues with whatever other food I’ve been consuming.

    Tastes More Like Real Food

    I have tried quite a few energy gels over the years for longer bike rides and weekend runs and most of them either taste wayyy too sweet or leave a strange lingering aftertaste. This one surprised me in a good way. The Honey Banana Peach flavor actually tastes closer to real food than a typical gel.The texture is thicker than some of the cheaper gels out there but I did not mind that at all. It went down easy with a little water and sat well on my stomach during a longer workout. I did not get that sugar crash feeling after either which has happened to me with products loaded with syrup and sugars.The calorie count is good and the 50 grams of carbs gave me steady energy during a long trail walk and later during a bike ride. I also like that the ingredients list is straight forward and not packed with a bunch of stuff I can’t even pronounce.The packets are easy to carry in a pocket or small bag though they are a little larger than standard gels because of the extra calories. For me that is a fair tradeoff since one packet goes a long way.Overall, this has been one of the better tasting and easier digesting energy gels I have used. I would definitely keep a few of these around for longer workouts or outdoor days. Good price to performance and quality make these a good value.

    Taste like real like food

    This is my first time tasting an energy gel and it is palatable. A bit sweeter than I expected. I can taste the peach, rice, bananas, like a soft porridge, easy to digest. I like that the ingredients are natural. It is effective to provide the energy and support when needed. Great that it comes it these packets that are portable and easy to use. There is more than enough in the 3.88 oz for 1 use or save for later with the screw top. Price is on the higher end for these energy gel.

    Yuck!

    These pouches definitely disappointed! They were so sweet they hurt my teeth. The sweetness overpowered any flavor. The texture was lumpy as well. Horrible consistency paired with sappy sweetness…I couldn’t get through the second taste of it. They might be good for someone that is diabetic and needs quick glucose, but for just random use, I definitely can’t recommend. The sugar crash the average person would have with these would be intense!

    Attempt #3 at writing this review. Tastes off. Peaches but not peaches in nut butter with half cooked rice and honey in a food processor. Weird texture.Weird peachy nut honey taste. I spit it out and rinsed my mouth.

    I use the Spring Energy gels to fuel long workouts. They’re great on their own or as a carbo-load with oatmeal. The cost for six gels is high, but there are more calories that other gels and the ingredients are easy on the stomach. They gels aren’t too sweet and have a pleasant taste that is peach forward with a basmati rice and spice finish. I like that they contain only real food ingredients, but would prefer more potassium for better performance.
