  • 100% USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC LICORICE ROOT POWDER: Our 100% USDA Certified Organic licorice root powder made from dried licorice root sourced from India. Also known as mulethi and yashtimadhu, licorice root has a naturally sweet, earthy flavor with the distinctive aroma associated with licorice. Use it in small amounts for beverages, baking, desserts, and traditional preparations.
  • NATURALLY SWEET, EARTHY & DISTINCTIVE: Licorice root powder has a naturally sweet flavor with warm, earthy notes and a characteristic licorice taste. The flavor is concentrated, so a little goes a long way. If you are trying licorice powder for the first time, start with about ⅛ teaspoon per serving and adjust according to taste.
  • HOW TO USE LICORICE ROOT POWDER: Stir a small amount into tea, coffee, hot chocolate, smoothies, or homemade drink blends, or add it to cookies, cakes, muffins, and other baked goods. It pairs well with familiar flavors such as cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, citrus, and chocolate. It can also be combined with other spices for homemade blends.
  • LICORICE ROOT, ALSO KNOWN AS MULETHI: Licorice root is the dried root of the licorice plant and is known as mulethi or yashtimadhu in Indian traditions. While the ingredient is familiar in traditional Indian preparations, its naturally sweet flavor also makes it an interesting ingredient for American kitchens experimenting with teas, desserts, beverages, and spice blends.
  • CULINARY & TRADITIONAL USES: Licorice root powder can be used in beverages, baked goods, desserts, and homemade spice mixtures. It has also been used traditionally in Indian and other herbal preparations, where it may be steeped in water or tea or combined with other herbs and spices. Outside the kitchen, some people use licorice root powder in homemade botanical and personal-care preparations.
  • STEAM STERILIZED & NON-IRRADIATED: Steam sterilized as part of processing and non-irradiated. No artificial flavors, preservatives, fillers, or added ingredients are included.
  • THIRD-PARTY TESTED & RESEALABLE 4 OZ POUCH: Independently third-party lab tested across 250+ parameters, including heavy metals and ETOs, with laboratory testing information available through SpiceProfile.com. The 4 oz resealable zip-lock pouch helps protect the powder from moisture and helps preserve its natural aroma and flavor between uses.

    Licorice sweet

It has a soft but sweet taste. I know it’s used for sore throats and colds. The powder is a very fine powder which is great for smoothies and drinks (Licorice Hot Chocolate). It has a large amount of powder for the price. It easily dissolves well in liquids. I know it’s great to have during the cold and flu seasons.

Great taste; I use it to infuse flavor into my daily coffee routine

This has a wonderful flavor that holds up well. I mainly got it to infuse flavor in my coffee, and it has been amazing. I mix a small amount into freshly ground beans and set it aside for a couple of days, then simply enjoy! This is by far my favorite way to drink coffee now – no cream, no sugar (I never used those anyway), no other additives – just delicious licorice coffee.

    Lifetime Ingredient

Never knew how well this medicinal root would perform with my breakfast cereal. Very nice surprise in the improvement to my skin. Found a lifetime purchase in Mulethi.

    Licorice root

This is a great product to use for hair and as a tea but don’t use it if you have high blood pressure

    Well, it’s powdered licorice root

Okay, first time buying. I was expecting licorice flavor, kinda like Scottie dogs, but not sweet. Not even close. I did find out that, it was my expectations that were off, not the product. Licorice powder is sweet. And, for all practical purposes, doesn’t taste like “licorice”. I will say, a little goes a long way. And I’m experimenting on uses. Adding to rich, flavored coffee seems to work. If you’re expecting “licorice”, you’re probably thinking anise, like I pretty much was. I’m not disappointed, just figuring out ways to use it.
