Good Way to Absorb B-6 If You Have Specific Needs
*****I really like this form of B-6 for so many reasons. First of all, there are dangers in taking megadoses of Vitamin B-6. I tried taking a lot (and hopefully my body was utilizing it) but was afraid of the side effects, some of which are very serious, and there are horror stories all over the internet about people taking even 500mg/day; I was scared. In the past B-6 has helped me with carpal tunnel syndrome and other health problems; this time I am having problems with my feet and thought it might make a difference, but I felt uncomfortable with the megadosing. So with this form of B-6, apparently a small amount can be better utilized by the body, so you can take less. I like that. Also, I think it tastes just fine. There is an initial mint taste which quickly fades. It is not very sweet or flavored, so it just tastes like you have something under your tongue, which other reviewers have complained about. This doesn’t bother me, as I have taken medicine sublingually for years and this B-6 tastes so very much better. So I’m fine with the taste. I don’t mind taking 15 or 20 minutes for it to dissolve, either–you do have to plan to not be eating or drinking for that long, or not talking extensively also. The instructions suggest you change the placement under your tongue during the dissolving too, so that it is absorbed better–again, not a problem for me. But with these particular instructions, I’m not sure that this would be a good way for children to get their B-6. Or anyone who has trouble with the instructions.I think what is comes down to is that some people have basic B-6 needs and so will get their B-6 in a B-Complex or in a B-6 tablet or capsule. Then there are those of us who have a special purpose in taking it, who have seen it help particular problems we have. If that is you, I don’t think you’ll mind following the absorption protocol.Source Naturals is a brand I trust, too. I have other products of theirs, all of which have been good.UPDATE 8-4-12: I have now been taking this product for a while. I do like it. Haven’t noticed any dramatic differences in my health problems that I’d purchased it for, but I really enjoy taking B-6 this way. One less pill to swallow. I have been able to shorten the time I wait for it to dissolve by moving it around the bottom of my mouth (still under my tongue) to about 5 minutes. Great product!Highly recommended.*****

great supplement
noticed a definite improvement in energy levels, and the sublingual delivery method is definitely the way to go with these types of pills.

Works for pregnancy nausea, but tastes gross
This would be a 5-star product if only it didn’t taste so nasty. I’m 9 weeks pregnant, and have been taking 2-3 of these daily since about 6.5 weeks to help with pregnancy nausea. I have the kind of nausea where you don’t throw up, but feel like you’re about to, and can kind of quell it by stuffing your face with carbs around the clock. I’m thrilled to report these absolutely give me 3-4 hours of relief a pop, and I don’t have to eat nonstop after taking them. I’m sad to report that they do in fact taste as gross as other posters have reported. When I hear the words lime and mint, as a pregnant lady, it really just makes me sad that I can’t have a mojito, and these not only taste nothing like mojitos, but are just yucky, which makes me even sadder. That said, they do dissolve within 5 minutes for me, and the aftertaste hasn’t lingered, so I have suffered through the 5 unpleasant minutes. Another thing I’ll note is that at first I didn’t find the taste so bad, but after taking these for several weeks, I increasingly dread the taste. Don’t know what that’s about.I had similar nausea with my first pregnancy and no one told me about Vitamin B6 and instead soldiered through a first trimester of constant eating and nausea. Definitely, despite the taste, taking these has been absolutely worth it.

Very bad taste, avoid if you’re taking for morning sickness.
Really gross flavor–not ideal if you’re taking these for morning sickness. Also get very damp and dissolve if you put them in a pill minder box. I couldn’t find any evidence that these are more effective or faster when taken sublingually, anyway. It worked better to take 50 mg tabs (small and smooth) from another manufacturer, and split them down the middle for an AM and PM dose. Couldn’t even swallow them with a glass of water when the nausea was bad, so had to return. And if that’s why you’re buying these, my deepest sympathy.

Bad taste, too wide and thin to safely swallow
There are two issues with these. The first: the lozenges taste terrible. They taste like aromatic bitters, plus a long lasting taste of actual bitter. The second is that the lozenges themselves are are broad and thin, and are totally unsuitable for swallowing.
