I use Solgar brand for two supplements: L-Tyrosine and L-Glutamine. I’ve had better success with Solgar for those two specific supplements than with other brands. They are gluten, wheat, and dairy free.I have hypothyroidism and stumbled across L-Tyrosine while researching the condition. It won’t replace medication, but it is a nice addendum. I take 2 in the morning (and again in the afternoon if I’m feeling too tired).The bottle says “brain support,” but my experience is that it helps me more with energy and muscle recovery than anything else. For instance, if I haven’t had enough sleep, causing my muscles are to be tired and achey, L-Tyrosine will work more effectively than Motrin.

Tyrosine – The Dopaminergic Focus Effect
I’ve found that this has helped me focus during the busy season at my job. I’d take 3, as research states that 500MG alone isn’t enough to produce a solid effect.Although I do not need this supplement, but it is good to have. Don’t expect an amphetamine-esque boost, its a mild focus increase at a higher dosage. While it helps with dopamine processing, you will not get the euphoric feeling that amphetamines produce.

I have used several different Solgar supplements and have been extremely pleased with each one.I greatly appreciate that they are packaged in amber glass bottles! I try to purchase supplements packaged in glass because I feel the integrity of the supplement is better preserved than when it is packaged in plastic.I struggle with an under active thyroid and adrenal fatigue, as a middle aged female. L-Thyrosine is an essentialamino acid that aids in supporting the thyroid and adrenal glands. It helps in the production of dopamine and serotonin. In return, it should begin to eliminate fatigue, encourage an elevated mood and eliminate mental fog and emotional fatigue. My iridologist recommended this supplement and so far I am very pleased.It is vegan friendly and wheat and gluten free, which is essential for me.

Find the right dose.
The product is great however, if you are taking this as a supplement for Vyvanze, Metadate, or Adderall it’s not going to work the way you may think. Just like there are different doses of those meds based on the severity of your Add/ADHD the same goes for supplement. You’ll have to find the correct dose for yourself and may have to add in another supplement or two. I take this in combo with Acetyl LCarnitine, and I work on my diet. I refuse to become a vegetable due to the side effects of Vyvanse and some of the others.

I have to say first, this supplement works very well for me. I am pleasantly surprised! I’ve tried other supplements for brain function, motivation, and focus. I am trying to get off of my ADHD meds (Adderall) & when I went off of it I couldn’t even get out of bed. This is very similar to the way Adderall is supposed to work. Gives me drive, enhances a good mood, more pleasant as well. To anyone needing more energy and focus/brain fog clarity, with out prescription drugs this is for you! I’m not getting paid to say this believe me . But I read reviews on Amazon before buying ANYTHING and this is the best supplement I’ve ever tried. I take 500 mg 3 times daily ( I have a very high tolerance for mostly everything) try it out! Your body,mind and soul will thank you!Stay well!

I’ve been taking two of these every morning for the past – nearly 40 years! I read an article in Muscle & Fitness way back then – how the neuro transmitters get involved, etc.. more mental clarity, more energy. I started taking them. My doctor once asked me why I was taking them, and I didn’t remember, it had been so long. So I quit taking them for one year. The year was awful. I had trouble understanding how to do new things; I was grouchy; I just didn’t have the energy. The next doctor visit he asked if I was taking them – and I realized why my year had been such a mess! I’ve been on them ever since. I was told TwinLabs was the best brand, and I try to get it every time.
