It actually worked for my insomnia and anxiety
I have been on a journey to find supplements to help with my severe insomnia and anxiety. I have also been looking for something that I could use as I dose back on Xanax. The insomnia started about 3 years ago and then anxiety followed along with nightly panic attacks. I saw several doctors and was put on so many meds I cannot list them all. Most of the meds only made my symptoms worse or I was in a drugged, foggy state during the day. What finally worked was an anti depressant during the day along with 2 mg Xanax and another 2 mg of Xanax for night. I am now physically dependent on Xanax for anxiety and sleep. Along the way, I have tried Valerian Root, Ashwagandaha, L-Theanine, melatonin, B-vitamins, CBD, magnesium, 5-HTP, etc. None of them worked for me. Then I found Solgar GABA. I was skeptical of course because of my experience with the others but thought why not give it a go. It has been a slow process but I now take .5 mg Xanax during the day, no anti depressant and 1 mg Xanax at night. I take a GABA capsule, twice daily, and 2 capsules at night with a magnesium supplement. GABA has helped me be able to dose back off of Xanax and to manage my anxiety. I feel calm during the day without all the Xanax. At night, I no longer get on the gerbil wheel and wonder if I am going to be able to go to sleep. When I crawl into bed, I’m calm and relaxed. This product has given me hope that I will finally be able to get completely off of Xanax but it also gives me something that I can use to manage my insomnia/anxiety that is non habit forming and not addictive.

I learned a long time ago that not all vitamins are the same. You must look at how they are produced and manufactured and where and how.. So is a high-quality one of a kind vitamin company. You cannot get a better quality product anywhere, especially for the mone. It is packaged in darker glass so that the supplement or vitamin last longer and keeps it safe from heat. It is a little more expensive than other vitamins. It’s because it is a real vitamin and it works, and you get what you pay for.. I would not buy my vitamins or supplements or minerals from any other company and neither should you.

I started taking SOLGAR GABA for PMDD and mood swings. I also get mood swings with sundown in the winter months and in the evening when my ADHD meds wear off. I don’t do well on hormones but my dr prescribed the mini pill to help with mood swings and anxiety during PMS and it significantly improved my mood. When I asked why she said it works on the GABA receptors. After taking it a while I started to notice it wasn’t AS effective as it was In the beginning, but I refuse to go on a higher dose of hormones. That’s what brought me here looking for a way to supplement the GABA effects.With all of the health products and vitamin manufactures on the market and on Amazon it’s hard to know which one to pick. It ultimately comes down to advertising and reviews which can both be misleading.I will say that I have been using SOLGAR products for years and my vitamin D lab tests have confirmed the quality, absorption, and effectiveness. Obviously GABA isn’t really something that you can confirm with a lab test but I can definitely say that this product works. It’s by no means a miracle and the effects are subtle but noticable. There is no miracle vitamin, but this one comes close. It doesn’t knock me out so I can take it during the day when I have PMS or in the evening when I don’t and just have sundown. I recommend giving it a shot if your symptoms or situations are similar to mine.

I can’t tell you how many supplements I have ordered that end up in the trash …. This one has been absolutely life changing for insomnia and anxiety. For me, this supplement gives me a calming effect. I take 1 capsules before bed.I research all supplements and manufacturers before purchasing any vitamin/supplement products to check for value, quality, consistency, independent lab testing, etc. Solgar is one of the best vitamin companies. However, for this GABA supplement, I prefer the Douglas Laboratories Brand. I felt more of a calming effect from their version of GABA.GABA is an amino acids naturally made in the human body, however many lack a sufficient amount. GABA supplementation is contradictory due to lack of reputable research and studies about the supplement’s ability to cross the body’s blood brain barrier. There have been some studies that show it can be absorbed when it passes through the liver. Research is ongoing and data changes, as with most aspects of vitamins and supplements.A GABA supplement is not a replacement for the drug “Gabapentin.” I have seen lots of reviews of various brands of GABA and some consumers thought this was a form of Gabapentin and it is not.Do a little research if you are interested in any supplement.I am not a doctor or medical professional, however I am a knowledgeable consumer. Check with your health care provider before adding supplements to your regimen to make sure they will not adversely interact with medications you are already taking.
