I am pleasently surprised about this vanilla protein powder. Its smooth, sweet and very tasty. I mixed 12 oz of water with a full level scoop of powder for post workout. The powder mixes easily without any lumps or clumps. It was like a less thick milkshake. The flavor is so rich that if I didnt have the ingredient list I would bet there was a ton of added sugar but there isnt. The bag is on the smaller side so if you are moving through some protein powder this may not be the best option, compared to the large tubs, but for someone who doesnt use it everyday, this is a great option.

My husband and I really like this protein powder! I use unflavored for other savory soups, but this is our go-to for smoothies and for adding protein to our overnight oats. It is so delicious and does not have a weird aftertaste that you’ll get with some flavored protein powders. Pricing feels competitive given the ingredients, and the taste is superior.

Positive:- Healthy portion size delivers 35g of protein- Prepared shake has excellent characteristics, thick, creamy, moderately sweet and a good dose of vanilla flavor and aroma- Includes some digestive enzymes for the benefit of those who might have issues such as digesting the small amount of lactose present in whey protein.- Mixes easily and completely, no clumping.- Added MCT (how much isn’t disclosed)- 7g fiber from added Fibersol (soluble corn fiber)- Doesn’t cost any more than most other WPC without all these additional benefitsNegative:- Sucralose used as the sweetenerI prepared this by mixing 12 oz of cold water with one scoop of the mix and agitating with my battery powered drink mixer. It mixed up thoroughly, without any lumps or clumping in just a few seconds. Only a small amount of foam was generated and that dissipated quickly. The resulting shake was quite delicious. Just the right level of sweetness for me, fantastic vanilla flavor and scent, has a creamy texture too.They call this Smoothie Plus and after trying it I understand why. They take Whey protein powder and then augment it with some additives to produce a superior result. MCT powder provides easily digestible energy, 35 grams of protein from a large scoop, 5 different digestive enzymes to aid in the breakdown of protein and lactose, 7 grams of fiber adds not only fiber but enhances the creamy texture of the drink. Altogether I’d say they came up with a fantastic blend that provides a superior product compared against the everyday variety of vanilla whey protein concentrate.My only criticism would be the use of Sucralose as a sweetener. I prefer Monk Fruit, Stevia Extract or a blend of those two.In summary, this blend of WPC, flavors and additives is a superior product compared to plain old WPC. I think it is worth your while to try it. It is also a great value. It is priced on par with just plain old WPC , yet it delivers so much more value and performance for the same cost.

Puzzling powder possibly packs protein punch
Well, this protein powder threw me off the first time I tried to use it. The product page and the packaging tout its high protein content, based on whey. The Nutrition Facts also back this up, specifying 35g of protein in a single 1-scoop serving weighing almost 55 g. But whey is whey, and this product’s whey protein is no more powerful than any other’s. The 55g serving size over 50% larger than other 35g/serving protein powders I’ve had that deliver 25g of protein per serving. So this is no more efficient, perhaps even less so.Worse, a single level scoop of the product weighs just 39g, not 55g. That is by far the biggest scoop discrepancy of any of the many protein powders I’ve reviewed. That leaves me a bit unsure of exactly what I’m getting.All that said, and sort of trusting the weights but not the scoop in the Nutrition Facts, I will just use this product with the supplied scoop, which when level yields (TA-DA!) almost exactly 25g of protein. This matches what I normally use in my afternoon homemade protein shakes, which combine 25g of whey protein, a 5.3oz tub of low-fat Greek yogurt for another 12g protein, 100-120g of fresh strawberries, and 12oz of water, all mixed in a blender to create a delicious smoothie. That recipe worked fine with this product and it tasted good. This powder is sweetened with sucralose, same as my Greek yogurt.This protein powder is packaged in a resealable bag, which of course can be squeezed into shape as desired and gets smaller as you consume the product. I greatly prefer this to the 50%-full, oversize jars that I’ve received with many “macho” products and that don’t fit on my pantry shelves.

Great tasting plant protein!
I have always found that the easiest way for me to lose weight is by going on a low carb/high protein diet. I was taken ill several years ago & now I have difficulty eating most meat products so I haven’t done this type of diet in a while. Because of this, I eat way more carbs than I need & very little protein so unfortunately I have put on some pounds.I ordered this protein powder which has 35 grams of protein per serving. It has all of the essential amino acids, plus branched chain amino acids which aids muscle recovery. It also has digestive enzymes to help process the higher protein. Each serving has 2.5 grams of carbohydrates which makes it perfect for a low carb diet.I like to mix mine with water & blend it with some ice. I use as a quick meal replacement in the morning & at lunch and then have a sensible dinner in the evenings. It’s easy to use & requires no refrigeration.The powder actually tastes very good so it’s easy to drink it & I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything. I haven’t had any unwanted side effects from this powder such as diarrhea or constipation like I always did when eating a lot of meat.The protein is plant-based which works very well for me since I have problems digesting animal proteins. The powder is a bit expensive but it fits perfectly into the Keto lifestyle that I’m currently using in my weight loss journey. I like the taste & have plenty of energy when taking this supplement. This is a product that I plan to continue to use in the future.

Very Sweet – Very Vanilla-y – Smooth – Like a Milkshake
A long time ago, I used a whey protein powder to increase my protein intake without additional fats from meat or cheese products. When I saw Smoothie Plus – “Designed for Performance and Everyday Wellness”, I thought I would give whey another try.A serving of Smoothie Plus – one scoopful is more than 1/3 cup and less than 1/2 – that is as close as I could measure it conveniently – the label also says it i 54.83g. Fortunately, a scoop is included so you don’t have to guess.One package contains 11 servings and is packed with 35g of protein or for me – 33 – 47% of my daily needs if I am active and 23 – 33% if I am strength training. It also contains 15% of daily calcium and a little bit of iron and potassium. Additional ingredients include MCT, a soluble fiber (7g) and natural vanilla. There is also DigeZyme to help prevent bloating.Oddly, in preparing the smoothie, you advised to mix two scoops in 10 – 12 ounces of your favorite beverage or water. Alert Alert – what your are going to end up with is sweet, vanilla flavored milky smoothie, so I am not sure how this would work if your favorite beverages is grapefruit juice or coffee – I would stick to adding this to water or milk.I decided to go vanilla (ha ha) and just mix it with 10oz of milk which was all that would fit into my glass. What I got was a VERY VERY sweet, thick milkshake – I added more milk when I had consumed some of the smoothie and created more space for additional milk. The sweetener in this is sucralose and I could taste a slight artificial flavor.You are advised to drink this 20 – 30 minutes before a meal. After finishing this, I am not at all hungry and doubt that I will be in 30 minutes – maybe that is the point.Over all, I found this much too sweet, but I like the creaminess and the vanilla flavor. One confusing detail is the difference between the number of serving in a package (11) and the suggested use amount; the servings are based on using only one scoopful, but the Use Suggestion calls for 2 scoops.Going forward, I think I will try using just one scoopful (or less) in a blender with milk, ice and fruit. I do think it will make a tasty beverage that way.All in all, not a bad smoothie – 2 stars removed – one for excessive sweetness when made as recommended, and a 2nd for the discrepancy between what is listed at the nutritional amounts in one serving and the number of servings/container compared to the amount suggested directions for preparing one drink.

Tasty, satisfying, and filling
So the Smoothie Plus Vanilla Protein Powder says it is for advanced muscle recovery and post-workout support like many protein powder products do. But if it tastes nasty or smells bad, I am not into torturing myself any further after a grinding workout.But surprise, surprise! As soon as I opened the bag, I noticed how wonderful the powder smelled. It actually made my stomach growl. Before studying the ingredients listing, I decided to follow the recommended directions and taste test it.For all of you who have read this this far, you can unwrinkle your noses and stop gagging. This stuff tastes wonderful! It’s like drinking a shake, but thinner. I am thinking it tastes like a lot of sugar so it is time to review the ingredients.No sugar. Zero. The whey protein powder (from milk) is sweetened with minimal amounts of sucralose. It does contain MCT powder and other beneficial ingredients that add up to 35g protein and 7g fiber…all within a total of 180 calories per serving and fulfilling a complete amino acid profile.My only gripe is cost. There are approximately 11 servings per container. Doing the math makes each serving around $3. But if you drink fast food shakes or designer coffees, this Smoothie Plus Vanilla Protein Powder is certainly the better choice.

Good…but Sucralose is Not Good
This is a pretty decent protein powder. It has mostly good ingredients and is a good way to get extra protein during the day. The big negative is that the sweetener is sucralose. That’s too bad, because sucralose isn’t overly healthy. But other than that this is a good protein shake mix. Note: it does foam up quite a bit if you put it in a blender.
