    Pregnant Women Read

I took Slow Fe during pregnancy after being diagnosed with anemia on my doctor’s recommendation. It’s definitely easier on the stomach compared to other iron supplements I’ve tried, which I really appreciated. That said, I highly recommend taking it with food. When I took it on an empty stomach, I started to feel sick pretty quickly. As for effectiveness, it didn’t significantly raise my iron levels, but it did help maintain them so they didn’t drop any further. Overall, it’s a good option if you need a gentler iron supplement, especially during pregnancy.

    My stomach is happy!

I tried the regular ferrous sulfate 65 mg four years ago. It gave me severe nausea and abdominal pain. I switched to ferrous gluconate. I got better but still had mild stomach issues and constipation. After these negative experiences, I decided to quit iron supplements and live with iron deficiency anemia. Not until this year did my new doctor prescribe me this newer brand of iron – Slow Fe! I was not quite confident at first, but I gave it a try. It worked perfectly! I felt nothing – no GI issues except it made my stool blackened (which is totally expected). I hope to see my iron level up in one month!
