Wish I would’ve gotten these sooner!

When I first found out I was pregnant I purchased the brand Needed (both powder & pill form) and accidentally ordered the 3 month subscription from their website. I grew impatient with their shipping delay so I purchased the pill form from Amazon. I was confident they would work for me after a friend suggested them. The first two weeks I felt fine but then my body started to reject them. The smell made me gag (it smelled like rotten protein powder) and swallowing both forms was impossible to keep down. I tried taking them at night but quit taking them for good because it was doing more bad than good since I was only nauseous when it came to this prenatal. Frustrated that I had already spent $200+ on prenatals I quit taking them and decided to focus on quality of food because I thought all prenatals would be that unbearable. Another friend recommended these prenatals after hearing I had quit taking Needed. I did not want to waste anymore money but I decided to give these a shot just in case. I ordered the citrus and they were perfect! I love that they smell like citrus instead of vitamins, I did not realize they taste like citrus too but that is such an added benefit. They went down super easily! I wish I would’ve gotten these sooner! I did read reviews of people having fish burps when they take this product so I just chose to take them at night time and have had no issues. So thankful for this product!!!

    Great Prenatal

I just completed the entire bottle of prenatal so I feel ready to review them! (I’m currently 39 weeks pregnant) I have a very sensitive stomach and when taking these I didn’t have any issues with stomach upset, digestive changes or nausea. I’m not a huge fan of how expensive they are but most prenatal vitamins are expensive so I bit the bullet due to the clean ingredients. I got the citrus flavor and they taste/smell like lemon which I liked. If you take them WHEN you’re eating or directly after you can avoid the fishy burps, BUT if you take them too long after you ate the burps are vile. It’s a fishy- musty taste that is disgusting. The only thing that has me in limbo about purchasing again is the color change. I did not have anything super drastic like I see in the other reviews but they do darken over time. It says not to store them in direct sunlight, which I did not but over the month they did darken a bit. I’m pretty curious as to why that happens. Besides that I am very happy with these vitamins.UPDATING: so I’ve been taking these vitamins for quite some time. I am four months postpartum and I’m still taking them as I am nursing my son I tried the mint and it was not for me, but I stick with the citrus and I have to say I love it. My stomach is no longer as sensitive as it was when I was pregnant, so I haven’t had one fishy burp or issue since I was pregnant. However, I do always take the vitamins after eating. I can honestly say that I have much better energy during the day when I take them and I do feel like they keep me regular. It’s definitely a staple and now I have them on recurring orders monthly. If you’re thinking about it I say you should give it a try!

    I thought they were great

Edit: unfortunately I stopped taking them! They actually started to cause me more nausea than not taking them and they gave me diarrhea all throughout the day.I will say that as of now, taking these for two weeks i like them! I have not experienced bad morning sickness and this is my 5th pregnancy and I’ve ALWAYS had morning sickness! Now if I don’t take them I start to feel crazy so then I’ll go ahead and pop two in! They DO NOT constipate me and that is a PLUS!! I had bowel issues for 5 years now since my last kid but I swear since being pregnant and taking these I go EVERYDAY it’s crazy to say that I love that but oh well I do! Ummm they are a little weird to swallow for me but that may just be me and they do give you a little lemon burst that comes up when you burp lol not bad at all! Overall they are PRICEY never thought I’d pay that for some damn vitamins and I’m hoping fingers crossed that they are doing what they are supposed to do for my baby but as far as me I’m pretty happy so far!!! And they are the only ones with REAL FOLIC ACID(so they say) but doing my research most of the others have a genetic orrrrr false type, I can’t think of the word for it but these ingredients are supposed to be the real deal!!! Now if my baby comes out with a tail or three arms then we may have a problem lol but no really so far so good I promise!

    Happy with my purchase!

I started this prenatal vitamin today and I already like them. The citrus lemony smell and taste makes them easy to take. I took two capsules after a meal, and there has been no after taste or burping fish oil. Other prenatal vitamins that I’ve tried seemed to be harsh on my stomach after the first dose.I’m taking them to build up my system prior to pregnancy and if my experience continues to be as good as the first dose I will continue to stay with them. I’d recommend this vitamin.

    My go to prenatal

I love this prenatal. I have tried MANY different prenatals and this one is the only one that doesn’t make me feel sick and actually made it easy to want to take my prenatals. They’re easy to swallow and have all the ingredients I need to feel like my baby is getting what he needs. They’re a little on the pricier side compared to what’s out there, but I will happily pay the cost because of how well they have worked for me.

They really need an “unflavored” option

They really really need to make an unflavored option. The mint and citrus are strong flavors and known triggers of heartburn (which about 100% of pregnant people will experience some heartburn at some point). I have a very sensitive stomach and I ended up switching to a different prenatal because of the added flavor. I like that it’s a simple prenatal but really needs an unflavored option. I felt good on it before the pregnancy but it started to hurt my stomach after I got pregnant.

This is THE pill! Just try it!This is THE pill! Just try it!

I did a decent amount of research before selecting a prenatal regimen, so I’m going to write the review I wish I’d found during my search, but the bottom line is: this is THE prenatal…just give it a try!I wanted to minimize how many other pills I’d need to supplement with, didn’t want pills that were too big, wanted the right kind of folate, no extra vitamin A as retinol, meaningful amount of DHA, not too daunting of a regimen, needed gluten free, and while I’m willing to pay more than some drug store brands, I wasn’t willing to pay over $80/month. This was the only pill combo (Ritual Essential Prenatal Multivitamin + Ritual Natal Choline) that fit the bill for me!I have low Vitamin D so I do supplement the Ritual regimen with an extra 2000IU of Vitamin D, but if your levels are pretty normal, Ritual already includes that amount. I also take a Vitamin C gummy since I have low levels and magnesium glycinate to promote relaxation before bed, however most people probably won’t need to (or even want to) supplement the Ritual regimen—I honestly wouldn’t if I didn’t have low Vitamin C/D.The pill size is on the larger size for me but very much a normal capsule size, similar to a 500mg Vitamin C capsules I’ve taken without issue. It’s counterintuitive, but if you pop a capsule, take a sip of water, and tilt your head forward (instead of back) with your chin to your your neck and swallow, it’s way easier to swallow a capsule without it ever getting stuck! The prenatal and the choline supplement are each 2 pills. Some may only need the multivitamin, but I’m not confident I get enough choline for these purposes, so opted to add that one as well. At first it seems like a lot if you’re used to taking 1 or none per day, but it’s really not too daunting. I love that they can be taken day or night, with or without food. While it seems minor, I see a major benefit to that for people who may have food aversions or nausea. For me, it’s helped bec for the first couple days I took the pills during the day and I did notice after some time I’d have a burp or two that had a slightly fishy aftertaste (but still totally bearable). Switched to taking all supplements just before bed and voilà—no burp risk at all!As for the taste/smell, these pills have a LOVELY lemon essence! While I love it, I can see where someone with nausea or sensitivity to smell may have a tougher time. However, there is a little essence tab in each bottle and I suspect you could just toss that out when getting the bottle and leave the top off for a couple hours so the smell/taste doesn’t intensify and wears off a little. On cost, it’s definitely not the cheapest, but I couldn’t find cheaper options by the time I pieced together everything I wanted from a prenatal. Lots of drug store options have folic acid which not everyone can absorb, and I’d rather not find out the hard way that I’m one of those people! Lots of other pills also don’t have a meaningful amount of DHA, don’t include iron, or don’t add other vitamins I’d expect to get from a multi, like Vitamin D, E, and biotin so when adding up all those separate supplements it became more expensive than it seemed at a glance. Other premium prenatals were higher cost, had too many reviews mentioning bad taste/burp back, and involved even more pills—some required a morning AND evening regimen. Ritual strikes the perfect balance, for me, especially if you want both the multi + choline and are able to purchase the combo pack, which was a bit discounted when I purchased compared to purchasing each bottle separately. Finally, I love that when I asked my doctor if this was OK to take, they said it was a good choice. Plus this combo is intended to support both prenatal and pregnancy, so I don’t have to worry about finding a new regimen during pregnancy. I then plan to stay with Ritual for postnatals or their regular women’s multivitamin.

The most beautiful and promising essential vitamins I’ve seen! The most beautiful and promising essential vitamins I’ve seen!

I value aesthetics and when coming across this brand I had to try it especially after comparing it to other options and I’m glad I did, its so elegant and unique and to me that couples in value within the entire sensory experience while caring for my health. I personally bought this version which is a prenatal vitamin yet I am using it as my daily essential multivitamin despite not being pregnant – I am sharing this as it is part of the critique and I hope that the seller will consider this as well: 1) the essential every day option is flavored with mint and mint makes me nauseous so I chose this citrus-flavored one 2) when comparing the essential option with this one, this one has more beneficial ingredients and at high percentages so on a cost analysis level, this seems more effective and fiscally efficient. I share this to suggest that the seller either make a non-mint flavored essential option and to also consider increasing their percentages to make an essential vitamin option for non-pregnant women, otherwise I will be buying this prenatal version. This is not health advice and please do your own research but to me, out of both the seller’s options, this one seemed better to go with. My photos gives a size comparison and also more details/an example of what the pills look like – beautiful little golden tubes slightly scented citrus, how lovely! The scent is subtle and fades quickly and I also think its wise to realize and make sure you take the full serving daily – 2 capsules, not one a day. For that reason, it might not be the most lucrative and I wish the seller could make this into a once daily serving because to me, why the need to have 2 pills instead of making it into one? Also, while this is a slight annoyance rather than a critical review that should sway your opinion on the product’s quality, as I care about presentation, I was shocked they slapped the barcode sticker there and how difficult it was to remove – I had to use soap and scrub off. I’m glad I took the time as now the bottle is pretty…for how much this costs and how they seem to focus on beauty, I’m surprised they didn’t think of placement and to make removing the stickers easier for their customers. To me this matters as I wanted to buy this as its one of the prettiest bottles I’ve seen and I plan to reuse the same bottle for storing future purchases, on top of the supposed/claimed health benefits. I just received and started using so it’ll be too early to review for the true absorbency or effectiveness but they were easy to swallow and an overall pleasant experience and well-rounded for women’s health, whether you’re pregnant or like me, using it because I don’t like mint and I looked and this version has more percentages of the same things as their regular essential daily multivitamin option. Perhaps this will be helpful for others making a decision or the seller. Either way I am pleased and satisfied and hope for better health for us all – and congratulations and best wishes to all those pregnant and welcoming children into their lives!
