A very potent and diverse probiotic without automatically going for the highest dose
I’ve tried quite a few Raw Flora probiotics over time and have had consistently good experiences with them, particularly for gut health and regularity. This is one of the stronger formulas I’ve tried from the brand, with 90 billion CFU and 31 different strains in a single capsule. I like the diversity here just as much as the CFU count. It includes Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Lactococcus and Streptococcus strains, along with prebiotic acacia and oat-hull fiber. The capsule is also delayed release and doesn’t require refrigeration, which makes it much easier to take consistently or travel with.One thing I’ve learned with probiotics is that I don’t necessarily think **more is always better**. Raw Flora sells an even higher-potency 150-billion-CFU version, but I wouldn’t automatically choose the highest number simply because it’s available. Depending on the person and what their gut is accustomed to, an extremely high dose can sometimes be more than necessary. This has everything I look for in a shelf stable probiotic supplement. It contains an effective amount, of a spectrum of probiotic strains. They’re all clinically studied, and encapsulated in delayed release capsules.This supplement has 90 billion CFUs, colony forming units. A really high amount. But, that alone, wouldn’t necessarily mean its a good supplement. It has 31 different strains. Different strains colonize in different areas. And besides their general benefits for digestion, different strains have individual benefits. Like supporting the immune system, producing B vitamins, or strengthening the intestinal lining. There are lactobacillus and bifidobacteria strains. As well as a lactococcus and streptococcus strain. The bacteria are all clinically studied strains. Important, so you know that their benefits have been tested and demonstrated. And, since it’s designed to be a shelf stable supplement, I can be less concerned about how it was stored, before i received it.There are 30, one per day, delayed release capsules. Delayed release protects the bacteria through the digestive system’s acid environment. So the contents are safely released, where they colonize. They also contain 195 mg. of an organic prebiotic fiber blend. With organic acacia and oat hull fiber, to feed the beneficial bacteria.This probiotic supplement has, a high amount, of 31 clinically studied strains. it’s in delayed release capsules, with prebiotics, and is shelf stable. I’m a frequent user of Raw Flora probiotics and find them to be solid, especially given the price. They are shelf-stable so I can put them in a pill box instead of them getting forgotten in the fridge. This particular one has a whopping 31 strains, which is much more than most. They’re also delayed release which is important for survival in the stomach. It has 90 CFU, which is a hefty dose, so I would not suggest these for kids, the elderly or those new to probiotics. However, for those familiar with how their body responds to higher dosed probiotics, this is an excellent choice at a very reasonable price. I find the capsules easy to swallow and the benefits evident. They don’t personally give me any bad side effects and I appreciate the higher doses, knowing that there’s always going to be some non viable units by the time it gets to where it needs to be. Raw Flora is made in the US and is quality tested, so I find them to be a trustworthy probiotic manufacturer.

This product has MANY beneficial strains for a general probiotic. It covers a multitude of areas since it contains 31 strains, and most importantly helping the GI tract from top to bottom, so there is a multi purpose going on. One thing that is of a surprise to me (as a person who has been taking probiotics daily since the mid 1980s), is that each capsule has 90 billion CFU – WOW, I have never seen a product this potent! (CFU = colony forming units, a way to estimate the number of live, viable microorganisms in a probiotic.) That’s a big bang for your buck! The convenient thing is the product does not have to be refrigerated. One important feature is the capsules are a delayed-release. In order to protect the probiotics from stomach acid, enteric coated capsules will open up after entering the small intestine. Another thing to note is this product has a prebiotic in it as well – which is (in layman’s terms) – “food” for the probiotics. A goal is for the probiotics to hang around and colonize, so this feeds them. This is a thoughtful addition to the ingredients – however, it is good to be aware than in some individuals, prebiotics can cause an intestinal gas issue. This company, in my opinion, has shown themselves to work hard towards making an exceptional product as they have taken careful consideration to include many important features in their product. I will be a repeat customer of this product!
