An interesting way to try organ-based nutrition from a brand I trust
I’ve been curious about beef organ supplements for a while, particularly for the naturally occurring nutrients found in organ meats, so this was an easy one for me to try. The formula is more comprehensive than just beef liver—it includes liver, kidney, heart, uterus and ovaries along with collagen. I also appreciate that the organs are grass-fed and dried to help preserve their nutrient content.Rainbow Light has been around for decades, and I’ve used other products from the brand, so I feel more comfortable trying something like an organ supplement from them than from an unfamiliar company. One thing to keep in mind is that the label doesn’t quantify specific amounts of iron or other individual minerals, so I wouldn’t consider this a replacement for a measured iron supplement if that’s specifically what someone needs.I’ve only been taking it for a relatively short period, so it’s too early for me to make claims about noticeable long-term effects. So far I’ve tolerated it well and haven’t had any issues. I’ll need to use it longer to judge what difference it makes for me, but my experience so far has been positive and I like the overall concept and sourcing.

Freeze-dried items like this typically have a long shelf life. Beef organ supplements seem to be all the rage right now on social media but it’s important to choose organs from grass-fed, healthy cows. THAT matters because remember, a cow is what it eats and metabolizes and processes. The organs do that for the animal. A cow that ate a poor “processed” grain diet (essentially Purina chow for bovines) is not going to have as healthy a liver, for example, as a grass-fed cow. Could also be used as a food for emergency use.

I’m very new to this beef organ supplement, but I’m really excited to add it to my daily routine and see how I feel over time. I really like that it combines five grass-fed bovine organs — liver, kidney, heart, uterus, and ovaries — along with collagen in one convenient capsule.The ingredient list is another big plus for me. It’s non-GMO, gluten free, and made without antibiotics, hormones, or pesticides. I love that you only need to take one capsule per day and that you receive 120 of them so it will last you a good bit.This contains really good ingredients and easy to swallow. This supplement makes me suspicious. Why do other well known brands state that their serving size is 6 capsules and this serving size is only one capsule?It also states grassfed beef organ supplement, and this is a 4 month supply, but is under $30?I did some digging on this brand and they use a lot of synthetic vitamins in their products, and then also include some powdered “whole food supplements” so they can make that claim. Better than brands like One A Day and Centrum? Yes. For sure. They would be middle of the road for me, mid-level quality, with mid-level prices.I just am a bit suspicious of the serving size and price. It doesn’t jive with me. Something is off. Either they are using inferior ingredients and labeling it incorrectly on purpose, or they are pricing their products lower than their cost, which doesn’t make sense. Maybe there’s something else going on that is completely legit, but I want to share my concerns.Another thing, forgot about this until just now. The seal on the bottle is SO hard to open. It is ridiculously hard. Even my strong US Navy husband couldn’t open it! That is just unacceptable! We had to stab it with a knife to even open the bottle.

There are so many ads and podcasts about women in their 40’s (which I am) taking these, so I thought why not? These are gel filled capsules. There’s not really a taste, and if you’re good at swallowing pills will have no issues. You only have to take 1 per day, so big plus there. It’s grass fed beef organs so you’re getting a natural product. I love read it takes 3 weeks to notice a difference. Will update after three weeks. What have you got to lose though? Give it a try.
