If you are taking a statin drug regularly, including red yeast rice, be sure to take CoQ10 to avoid muscle spasms and pain. Know that Coenzyme Q10 in an oil-based softgel form is 2 to 3 times more bioavailable, affecting efficacy, than a powdered form in capsule. This product is the powder form, however, it also contains Bioperine, black pepper extract, which makes the CoQ10 more bioavailable. This product also contains Reservatrol, a natural polyphenol from dark berries, that is an antioxidant. The capsule size is normal/medium and easy to swallow. I would recommend taking this powdered form with a meal that contains fat for better absorption, and additionally, I would avoid taking the capsule on an empty stomach because added Bioperine could cause heartburn initially as it does its job. The daily dosage is one capsule, so the bottle of 120 is enough for 4 months, making this product a good value for the price. I take red yeast rice to lower my cholesterol and by taking CoQ10 I have never experienced muscle side-effects, so I would say that the product is proving to be effective for the purpose I have in mind. Even if you are not on statins, this product has many other benefits for general use such as reducing inflammation and supporting overall cellular function, enhancing healing and energy.

Pure Nutrition Natural Treasures Co-enzyme Q10 175mg comes in a bottle of 120 veggie capsules that at the serving suggestion of 1x a day, that would give you 120 days worth. The two highlighted additions to the formulation is resveratrol and BioPerine – the first being an antioxidant and the second being a patented extract of black pepper which is claimed to improve absorption of Co-Q10. This seems a little pricey compared to some popular national brands so Its always best to compare. I also believe that people pay more for the Ubiquinol type of Co Q10 that is said to be more bioavailable and is part of the formulation of some of those national brand but isn’t part of this formulation here. It’s always best to check with your healthcare professional before starting any new supplements and what type of Co Q10 is the best for you to take; if any at all. Made in India.
