Mixed results
The capsules don’t have any sort of weird odor or flavor. They are fairly easy to swallow.I have not way of measuring the quality or purity of the product in the capsules, but I found a web site that talks about how one determines the quality and purity of the Tongkat Ali in the capsules. It indicates that a good quality product will have a certain color. Less pure ingredients will have a pale color. Since I’m just comparing with a picture on my screen, it’s hard to make an accurate assessment. Having said that, I would say the powder in these capsules is more consistent with lower quality, or lower purity products. The labels says “promise of purity”, but doesn’t actually say “100% pure” or any other level of purity.I looked on line to see what sort of dose is recommended. It’s a little confusing given that this product is “100:1” where as many other products are “200:1” or “300:1”. 1000mg at “100:1” might be equal to another product 500mg that is “200:1”. Either way, it seems that this product might be higher than the safe daily dose of 200-400mg. But that dose doesn’t indicate if it’s “100:1”, “200:1”, or something even higher.I have noticed that since I’ve started taking this Tongkat Ali, I have more energy without experiencing jitters or crash that is associated with stimulants like caffeine. But I’ve also noticed that it has increased my blood pressure. A couple of times, I took the product with my evening meal and woke with a headache. I don’t know if the two are related, but now that I’m taking it with my breakfast, I don’t notice any headache.The product makes a lot of claims that are hard to measure without a significant lab or measuring tools. I have no way of knowing if my sperm count is improved. But I wasn’t aware that I had a low sperm count. So that’s not something I would care about. I can’t say that I’ve had a lack of sexual desire, and I can’t say that my sexual desire has increased since taking this product. I can say that it has not done anything for my athletic performance. If anything, I feel like I “bail out” of my workout sooner and feel more frustrated with my lack of athletic performance.I haven’t had any weight loss or gain. This product claims that it will help build lean muscle mass. My smart scale doesn’t measure lean muscle mass accurately enough to be able to say if this product has helped with that.Bottom line is that I’m concerned about the increase in blood pressure and the headaches that I experienced the first week of taking this product. I am also concerned about the long term affect of taking 1000mg daily since that is 2-5 times the recommended amount.

Every so often I will try one of the nutritional products offered by Vine and I decided I would give this one a try. Unfortunately for me this did not work out well. You need to know I am 82 years old and probably should not be taking a food supplement like Tongkat Ali but I was temped to try it hoping it would give me more energy and the ability to sleep better but instead I experience some difficulty a few hours later in my ability speak coherently and put my thoughts into understandable words. The good news is this reaction only lasted a short time and I was back to my normal self. This supplement may be fine for the younger men but for us old guys I think maybe we should skip this one…
