Good medicine, huge pill
I took AREDS 2 for a long time and it was helping my eyes. I switched to AREDS 3 when it came out and while there’s no problem with the medicine, the pills are huge. Each pill is over 3/4″ long plus they’re rather thick. In other words, they’re fairly hard to swallow. Personally, I wish the pills contained half as much ingredients, and a dosage of two. I don’t want to gag every morning when I take them. I’ll still use them of course, just wish they were a bit smaller.

Absolute eye saver – not only stopped progression of MD, BUTreversed
My mom was diagnosed with macular degeneration – wet in one eye and dry in the other. The specialist suggested and AREDS2 supplement… well I found these which are the AREDS3. She started taking them immediately. She went in for a reassessment and the dr had to check her chart twice. She had improved significantly. He still wanted to do injections for the wet eye – thats the worst of the two types. She went a couple weeks later for her first injection, she showed even more improvement. She just went back last week for her 2nd injection and he said it is barely bleeding / leaking (which is why they call it wet MD). He said the pills are definitely working – keep it up. She will have one more injection next month and then if it’s still improving she will likely shift to maintenance and only go every 6 months. I believe my mom got MD due to not being about to consume dark leafy greens or green veggies (like broccoli) since she is on Coumadin. Which is essentially one of the main supplements / ingredients in these which are essential for eye health. I would absolutely recommend these for anyone with eye issues – especially macular degeneration.

Recommended by my ophthalmologist as a supplement for macular degeneration and overall eye health. The new Areds 3 does not come in chewable form, so I have switched to the gelcaps.
