I got the Poxo Collagen Powder for Wounds to accelerate the healing of a minor puncture wound, and I was particularly relieved to see how easy it is to use. The powder is made from 100% bovine collagen and comes in convenient single-use tubes. The internet was all over the place on recommendations: some said cover wound with ointment and then cover with tape and another said just soap and water and don’t cover. The feedback on similar collagen wound dressings is that they are designed to help maintain a moist healing environment and support tissue regeneration during the healing process.The Poxo instructions were that after the wound is washed, the powder is spread evenly over the wound area and covered with gauze and that’s it. The directions for application of the collagen simply say to spread a “thin layer” on the wound. The individual packaging makes it easy to keep everything sterile until needed and avoids waste. This process is then repeated in 24 hours. The 7-tube pack is probably a good size for most short-term wound care needs.While wound healing naturally varies from person to person, what would likely apply to everyone is that this product provides an extra layer of support and helps keep the wound protected as it heals. In my particular wound situation, I did experience a small issue using the powder because the wound was on a curve and the powder kept falling to the side. I had never even heard of this type of product for this purpose. Seems to be a new method that I hope never to need.These are packaged nicely in multiple (7) vials contained in a compact case. I will be placing them in various first aid kits so that they are available when needed. Each is sealed and appear to be of a sufficient size for several applications depending on the severity of the injury.The size of the complete package seems to be a good value for their intended use.

Each vial has 1g of white collagen powder.The collagen supposedly can help would heal faster and reduce scaring.I tested this out on small cuts and scrapes from cycling. It is very hard to assess if it helps. Of course the skin naturally heals after couple days. No way for me to do direct comparison if this collagen healed faster or resulted in less scaring.Although each vial is 1 gram of powder. It seems 1 vial can be used multiple times. Just depends on size of your wound.It is not too difficult to use. Apply a thin layer of collagen. I use cotton swabs for application. Then cover with gauze pad.As of June 2026, this collagen powder cost $39.99. That comes out to $5.71 per gram. If we go by weight, this is quite pricey. Ultimately, it depends on whether you believe in beneficial effect of collagen.
