I’ve been really happy with this prenatal DHA supplement. Great and Affordable!
I have been taking this prenatal DHA Supplement every day and so far I am really happy with it. I really like how gentle it feels on my stomach. Some supplements can be uncomfortable or leave me feeling like I have taken something heavy, but I have not had that issue with these. The softgels are also easy for me to swallow, which makes it much easier to stay consistent with taking them every day.I got this to complement my gummies multivitamin. The 90 softgel bottle also gives me a good supply, so I am not constantly having to reorder. I have had a very positive experience with it so far, especially because it is easy to take and agrees well with my stomach and the price is absolutely great for a 45 days supply. I am definitely happy I decided to give it a try.

Heat impaired the contents entirely
Unfortunately through no fault of Piping Rock, these adorable gel capsules melted in transit. I mean it’s one big solid gooey mass with oily inners all over inside the container and all over the goo ball. I can’t speak to the taste because I’d have to lick the entire mass after getting it out, mega dosing DHA as well. I’m sure it’s effective as a set quantity but taking a month’s worth is difficult now. The gel capsules do indeed dissolve well as noted by their effective ability to congeal. They have little to no odor or smell- something slightly earthy not overtly fishy or oceanic. It doesn’t look tasty. I may reorder to try again when it’s cooler on Earth umm everywhere I suppose.

This is the first time I have seen Tilapia used in an Omega 3 fish oil product. Hence 3 stars.This product contains both anchovies and tilapia.The oil is purified, so at least there is that.If you are concerned about the Tilapia being farm raised, contact the company. AI said it’s likely to be farm raised.Also, the bottle got very hot during shipping (over 100+ degrees) and the gel caps were stuck together so hard that I could not separate them. I ended up throwing them away as AI suggested.You don’t have to be pregnant or a female to use DHA for the brain benefits.DHA is long proven to be effective support for the brain of the developing baby.You take 2 gel caps that are easy to use to get the dose of 500 mg. of DHA that is listed on the label.The caps look large, but they are easy to take.You can take them both at the same time, or at different times, but it’s best to take them with food containing some fat.It doesn’t have any after taste or smell.The price is good for this DHA product.

Came melted together, but ingredients are great
I love the simple ingredients, but the capsules came melted together. After about 20 minutes of *gentle cooersion, I was able to remove and separate these. I then put them in the freezer and then the fridge to *hopefully keep them from becoming one large clump..again.These do not offer fishy aftertaste like others, but had the oily throat and mouth feel after about an hour of taking..did not last.I understand these are for pregnancy/prep, however fish oils are also known to be great for encouraging heathy hair, nails and skin.

Gave me fish oil burps and can not verify any type of COAs on this. It’s a hard pass for me.
Let’s talk fish oil. Hubby takes it. We give it to our dogs. Me…well I have tried so many different brands….yes even the super expensive one you’re probably all thinking of… and no matter what I always get those fishy burps later on. Not sure why as I have no allergies or issues with eating any type of fish. It’s just fish oil itself and apparently my body says NO THANK YOU. Needless to say I do not take fish oil. I do have some arthritis in my lower spine and both my chiropractor and MD tell me I should be taking fish oil. I’ve heard it for the past 4-5 years. Again my body says NOPE not today. But every very once in a while I think….I know I should be taking fish oil so I find a different/ new brand try it and the above scenario plays out.So when this Prenatal DHA from PIPING ROCK popped up and I figured WTH it’s been a while since I’ve punished myself with fish burps so why not give these a try. I am not even close to being pregnant. Heck I’m 59 but I figured IF this is geared towards pregnancy it should be safe.Bottle contains 90 softgels and per their dosing this is two softgels a day…so a 45 day supply.Lot # and expiration date….03/2028 stamped on bottom of the bottle.There is no smell when opening the bottle.Softgels are small…..about half the size of the average fish oil softgel. Easy to swallow.As far as side effects…I tried it the first day and had fish burps. So I guess you can say for me it does have an aftertaste. So I did what has been recommended and put them in the fridge. Tried them the next day and still fish burps.I’ve never tried any supplement from PIPING ROCK so I am not going to fault them for fish burps HOWEVER I would still not chose to continue this supplement even if it hadn’t given me burps and here is why.While the listing states they use GMP and lab testing…which is completely different than denoting third party testing…there is no stamping anywhere on the bottle showing GMP or any type of testing. Going to their website only shows me what the listing says. I can find absolutely no information or COAs anywhere. As someone who will only take supplements that are verifiable with COAs to ensurethat what I am ingesting is at the purported dosing amounts and free from toxins like mold and heavy metals this supplement does not do that therefore I would not feel comfortable taking this long term even if it didn’t give me fish burps.While the price I feel is reasonable for a month’s supply lack of transparency means this is a fail for me.
