I have been taking turmeric for years because I have felt that it has really helped me with its anti-inflammatory properties. It is very common to see it combined with black pepper, which this is, because it makes it more bioavailable than just turmeric alone, which can be a bit hard to absorb. This is the first time, though, that I have seen a turmeric complex containing coenzyme q10 and astaxanthin. After doing a bit of research, it would appear that putting turmeric and coenzyme Q10 together synergistically accentuates the benefits of both more than either one separately. Sounds good to me!Now, I’m not exactly sure why they decided to also include astaxanthin, and it may have other healthful properties that I’m not even aware of, but I do know that it is very good for and important to eye health, and in fact my optometrist had just recommended this year that I start to supplement for eye health and protection, so I think that’s all to the good as well.I’ve been purchasing supplements from Piping Rock for years now, and they are a trusted brand and well established company, made in the United States, and their prices are always extremely competitive.Great ingredients, great and reliable quality, at a great price — how could you go wrong? Sure! I recently picked up a turmeric curcumin supplement, and I gotta say, I’m pretty impressed. The capsules are easy to swallow, and I’ve noticed a bit of a boost in my overall wellness—less joint discomfort and just feeling a bit more energized. Plus, it’s nice knowing I’m getting some natural anti-inflammatory benefits. If you’re looking to add something healthy to your routine, this could be a good choice!

Seems to help joint and muscle pain; a bit big but easy to swallow

I’ve been using this Piping Rock Turmeric Curcumin supplement for roughly two months. The softgel capsules are quite large at about 1” in length, but I find them to be easy to swallow. They dissolve quickly, though, so if you don’t want a peppery mouth, don’t hold them in there too long. I wasn’t faithful with taking them the whole two months, but I can honestly say that I have noticed improvement in the levels of joint and muscle pain when I do use it. This is with one softgel a day as directed. However, other factors may contribute to my reduced pain levels recently as well, such as avoiding grains, sugars, and other highly processed foods. Of course, this can be a challenge, and adding this Turmeric Curcumin supplement actually seems to help with the inflammation even when I don’t strictly adhere to these diet changes.As far as the Piping Rock brand’s legitimacy is concerned, I made a few online queries about it, and it indeed seems to be a fairly well-known supplement company. Apparently, it was founded by the co-founder of the Nature’s Bounty brand, which is now completely separate. Piping Rock also owns the Nature’s Truth brand (and a few others), which I have seen on local department store shelves.Concerning Piping Rock’s claims on the product page for this Turmeric Curcumin supplement of it being a “Non-GMO”, “Lab Tested” and “GMP Quality Product”, you should note that there are no official seals on the bottle for any of these. However, according to my own little research, Piping Rock has their own testing lab to check their sourced ingredients for purity and GMO contamination, and they use their own cGMP certified manufacturing facilities for all their supplements. Of course, this means you’ll have to “take their word for it”, but it should be noted that they also have other official certifications listed on their website, but they do not all apply to every product, including this one. I highly suggest you do your own research to verify the status of these certifications, if only to determine the integrity of the company. One of my concerns is that the “GMP Quality Product” seal does not equal “GMP” or “cGMP” official certification for this product. To me, this so-called “seal” can mislead people into believing that it is. This may not be intentional, but it’s a common type of advertising that’s used by many supplement companies (and companies, in general), so it’s something to be aware of when dissecting the description of a product. And with that in mind, it is also worthy to note that there are class-action lawsuits that have been filed against Piping Rock Health Products recently, mostly having to do with misleading or deceptive labeling. The other one has to do with bad side effects believed to stem from one of Piping Rock’s other supplements. In my opinion, the labeling issue can be attributed to a lot of other supplement company practices as well, so I take that with a grain of salt. And while the other lawsuit is very concerning, please keep in mind that there are always two sides to every story. It’s hard not to jump to conclusions, especially when it comes to supplement safety, but sometimes we judge the outcome before it’s even been decided. To be honest, I didn’t even know anything about these lawsuits before I started taking this Turmeric Curcumin supplement, and I haven’t experienced any side effects to date. Do your own research, though, and draw your own conclusions.Considering all this, yes, there may be room to pause, but I’ll probably continue using this supplement because it seems like it’s actually helping with my inflammation, and I haven’t experienced any ill effects. For now, that’s what I will rate this product on, with a one-star deduction for the description being somewhat misleading.
