This is definitely more of a premium omega-3 supplement than your standard cheap fish oil capsules. Good Omega-3s, but Those Fish Burps Are REAL!
Listen, I’m gonna be honest, my doctor told me I should be taking omega-3s, so here I am. Omega-3s like DHA and EPA are commonly taken to support things like heart, brain and eye health, and two of these give you 1,050 mg of omega-3s, including 750 mg DHA and 187 mg EPA.They are those big ol’ liquid softgels that are pretty standard for fish oil, so if you struggle with larger pills, keep that in mind. They go down fine for me, but the BURPS? Baby. The bottle may say no fishy aftertaste, but my experience says otherwise. If I burp after taking these, I absolutely know I took fish oil. 😂I also like that they’re gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free and non-GMO. Overall, I’m happy with them and will continue taking them like my doctor told me to. I may not know everything omega-3s are doing in there, but apparently my doctor does.

Yes there are some fish roe inside!
I had heard quite a bit about PaleoValley from some friends, so I was happy to try these PaleoValley fish oil pills. I have taken an Omega 3 supplement every day for years, so these are a natural fit into my routine. The side of the bottle says to take two pills per day for 1050 mg of Omega 3, as well as 750 mg DHA and 187 EPA. Two pills also includes 281 mg of phospholipids, which according to the product literature makes the Omega 3 more bioavailable. Taking two of these pills each day is a small and easy thing to do, but unfortunately I can’t really measure or see what they are or aren’t doing for me inside of my body; perhaps after several months or a year or more I could, but immediate effects are difficult to ascertain. However, I can say that these have caused me no issues, and I am impressed with the ingredients, which include a blend of fish oils from herring, anchovy, sardine and mackerel, plus wild herring roe. Herring roe is herring caviar, also known as herring eggs. As I understand it, herring roe is rich in Omega 3, so it seems like a natural fit. The ingredients list also mentions lemon oil, which adds a subtle lemon taste to bring down the fishiness. It does seem to work because while these do have a slight fishy smell, it is not overwhelming, nor is the lemon. The bottle is double sealed, which I like.The pills themselves have a darker, richer color than my typical fish oil supplement, and if you hold one up to the light an look closely you can see color variations inside. These are fairly expensive supplements to I hated to waste one, but I wanted to find out what that is, so I poked a hole in one and squirted out some of the oil. You can definitely see there are roe inside! In my opinion this does go to show these are minimally processed..Overall, I am very happy with these Omega 3 supplements. The are a somewhat different approach than the typical salmon oil capsules, but I do like that the fish are wild caught, the variety of fish types, the deep color, the fact that they contain herring roe, that the oils are minimally processed and are made with GMP certification. PaleoValley seems like a great company and I feel good about taking these fish oil pills, but I wish they weren’t so pricey.
