I’ve been taking ALA for a long time, but only recently added blends that include carnitine.Compared to the others I’ve tried, this one has a lot more carnitine and a little less ALA. Luckily, they don’t try to pull one over on you by claiming serious potency and then telling you to take 5 capsules at a time to get that potency. This brand means what it says: a serving is one capsule. And the capsules are medium/small. That’s a big plus for me.I don’t detect any real taste or smell with these either. Not that I am chowing down on capsules!If it’s of concern to you, I noted that these are made in the US, and the company is based in NJ. That may provide peace of mind, although I’m not sure what stipulations need to be met before a company can claim that their formula was made in the US.Overall this seems like a solid supplement option if you want to load up on the carnitine and have a bit less ALA.

Supplements are an interesting deal for me. Either I really don’t notice anything or I can be extremely sensitive and they hit me hard. Despite all that, I still continue the search to help me with my diagnosis’s.I have heard good things about Acetyl L-Carntine for ADHD. Was hoping it would help me with focus and motivation and maybe even with anxiety.For this supplement, you only take 1 pill. Unfortunately, I did not realize they were gelatin until after the fact, so that was a major bummer as I find gelatin nauseating.And yes, this supplement had an effect on me. Although I felt somewhat more motivated, I felt extremely agitated. Although I occasionally feel agitation, I was surprised by the degree of agitation I felt. Not knowing this was a side effect, I looked it up and sure enough it can be.All that being said, I will not be taking this supplement again. I took magnesium and l-theanine to help with my agitation and it finally wore off as the day went on. If you are sensitive to supplements like I am, this is definitely something you should be aware of.

The capsules are easy to swallow and have no taste or odor.Each serving contains 750mg with a proportion of 525mg ALCAR and 225mg ALA. It has roughly a 2 to 3 year shelf life and matches the quality of other supplements I have tried from this brand. I feel like they have been effective and I can trust the ingredients of these capsules.

My expectations are never high when it comes to natural supplements, but I’m always willing to try.It surprises how often people review supplements, either touting their efficacy or berating the lack thereof, as if there were some objective result that you could look at and say I took these pills or capsules or whatever and now I’m 10 inches taller or I have a full head of hair when last week I was bald. But they do. I don’t. The key really is the word itself – “supplement.” These are not medication or magic beans, not this supplement nor any other. Update: I cancelled my other Carnitine and added this Acetyl L-Carnitine/Alpha Lipoic Acid instead. I looked at so many choices on Amazon and this combo of L-Carnitine and Lipoic Acid combined with the price just seems like the best deal right now to me. On my fixed income, the price of 18.49 as I write this review makes this an excellent value for a 6 month supply. At approximately $40. per year this supplement fits my budget.2. The plus of this Acetyl L-Carnitine compared to others for me is that the addition of ALCAR boosts dopamine and I have noticed a positive change in mood that I can only attribute to this addition so I am replacing my old Acetyl L-Carnitine pills with these ones because the price is about the same but I feel an enhanced benefit.3. This addition of ALCAR (Alpha Lipoic Acid), a second antioxidant has an excellent history of research behind it, is synergistic (research has found that the 2 together results in a more powerful effect) aiding in better cognitive function, energy production, and nerve health. For those that suffer with neuropathy as I do especially in my feet, taking Acetyl L-Carnitine will make a noticeable difference. As far as the performance of this Acetyl L-Carnitine compared to others, I can say that my feet still no longer ache after 2 weeks of taking this supplement. But since I have been taking Acetyl L-Carnitine for many years, I cannot say that I notice a difference between this one and my “Go to” supplement. I am simply pain free as to neuropathy. Also, I will say that all Acetyl L-Carnitine supplements are not equal: I went to taking my “Go to” Acetyl L-Carnitine when I found that some others were ineffective. And this particular supplement is showing itself to be as effective as my “Go to” Acetyl L-Carnitine.4. Great supplement
These are a pretty good no nonsense nutrient blend in a single or 2 capsules. I got these for energy and focus as it seems that amino acids can help with those. After taking them for about a week or so I am a believer. I was already taking a few supplements but I was looking for something new. It’s always hard to tell when you are already taking supplements but I noticed right away a difference. I had a small boost of energy in the morning and they seemed to help throughout the day with focus. For the quantity of capsules and what they are doing for me they seemed to be pretty cost effective. I like that they are allergen free, non gmo, and lab tested. They are also made in the USA.
